I carried a SEARS craftsman large yellow stockman from before i can remember to well after high school. It was always in my front left pocket every day of my life. So useful on the farm.

Finally common sense EDC. Great video my guy. Not overdone or underdone. I get tired of watching peoples EDC and they got a backpack a gun in it 2 guns on them a sling back with a gun in it and a pocket holder and all these other unnecessary tools. Thanks for keeping it real. And great choice with the revolver. My backup and EDC depending on where going is a Taurus 605 .357/38

Never realized how much i liked a vest until i started wearing a Carhart work vest. I haven't graduated to one like yours, but in Georgia the mild winters allow me to wear a vest and have full range of motion of my arms while at work (contractor). I've got one of those Stanley thermoses. matter of fact i grab the old ones whenever they pop up at thrift stores. have 3 now i believe. I'm not the best with identifying traditional knives, but i think that's a Sowbelly Stockman. It amazes me how many situations i get in around a group of people and I'm the only one with a knife or flashlight. To me, both are just mandatory. One of my "knives" is always a multitool, usually a Leatherman. The only defensive type knife i carry anymore is a T handled push dagger. No more training needed than the usual knowing how to defend myself with fists. I've ended up going with smaller flashlights that use 14500 lithium batteries (AA sized). They now can put out 1200 lumens and with good branded batteries they can be recharged at least 700 times. That Coast light probably just needs the battery to be replaced with a good branded rechargeable battery rather than the cheapest one they can provide with the light. The voltage on lithium batteries is so much higher that the light is brighter and lasts much longer than alkaline batteries. Pistol is always a must. For me it's inside the waistband. Thanks for sharing your EDC with us. Preparedness, to me, shows an amount of maturity that doesn't always seem to be in full supply around me many times. It's so basic and yet many times lacking.

Thanks for the battery info, I'll check into better replacement. Sounds like we're on the same page on everything though! Thanks for watching.

I'm now 71 YO. When I was 6 years old my Dad said son a man carries 3 things . One is a pocket knife, two is a wallet and three is a wrest watch. Come Christmas time my Dad bought me all three things.. Ever since then everyday I had those items on me. Now if your caught with a pocket knife in school the police will be called. Damn shame. Once I became an adult I have carried a 6 inch blade on my belt and I still do. I have a multitool attached to the sheath of my knife so I have all that covered large and small. I also wear a vest and a fanny pack with my other EDC inside which includes Berretta .22 pistol. Life is good to be old.

I love hearing that! More fathers need to have some "standard" things they pass down the line. Keeps a young man with something exciting to look forward to. My father in law always has a fanny pack, and when I was in high-school I made fun of him for it, till I got older and realized why he carried it, I was like ahhhh, very smart and unassuming

I should probably wear a watch but I don't. I'm 47 years old and I've never owned a wrist watch. I don't even wear my wedding ring unless my wife of 30 years directs me to when we go to town.

As far as pistols go I've been trying multiples and different sizes calibers and carry style and my favourite is the Ruger security six with a 9 o clock cross draw. It's been my favourite since the late 80s and yes I've tried out multiple handguns . The SIG Sauer 226 is much easier to carry but I just prefer the security six because of the 30+ year's I have with it

G'day mate, new subber here from my little farm in Queensland Australia. First off that .38 five shot looked a nice sidearm mate, I've always had a soft spot for .38 snubbies, secondly, your boy is a crack shot, his name is Haggard (Merl?), & he's wearing a John Deer hoodie, may I say hats off to you & your wife sir for raising them right! May Almighty God bless you all, keep you all & protect you all, take care sir.

Thanks for tuning in my friend. I love the snubs, small enough to carry easily and still be a revolver. Yes, he is named after Merle. He's a solid kid.
@Philippians--vz1miКүн бұрын
Yes, I agree mate, named after Mr Haggard I thought, yep seems like it mate 👍🙏. I used to be a rock/blues singer songwriter for over 20 years, but simple life on the farm here for me is all I want, as Ronnie from Lynard Skynard once sang so beautifully, "a simple kind of man" just my Holy Bible, me, my beloved dogs, my farm & my Indian motorcycle, thats just fine by me, a wife a children sounds lovely, but as The Good Lord Jesus Christ had it figured, that beautiful blessing just wasn't in the cards I was delt when sitting at felt & playing this strange ol poker game called life, but I only want what my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ wants me to have, dont need anything else 😀👍take care & may Almighty God bless you all, friend. Take care. @@MATTMASONMUSIC

Hey quick comment. But you ever thought about carrying two wallets. Your main and a mock wallet with expired cards few dollars cash. Guy tried to rob me at knife point. I threw the mock wallet and as he bend down to grab it I drew on him. He ran away. But it saved me from harm or doing harm and further escalation

@MATTMASONMUSIC3 күн бұрын

Having also worked with horses for years, I can relate to using the blunt-pointed cutting tool on a lead rope. The last thing ANY of us want to ever do is harm one of our horses.....they are like family and surprisingly frail, sometimes. Given how thick they are, I would think it would take a LONG time to cut through a lead rope.a lead rope would take a LONG time to cut, I would think. Is there a reason why you wouldn't just use a quick release knot where the rope attaches to the trailer?
@MATTMASONMUSICКүн бұрын
Personally I don't tie horses in trailers i have, but its not the norm for me, but am around enough people that do. Usually those people always just have a standard lead. I keep that knife sharp enough to almost shave with, so it could cut thru fast enough.

Care to elaborate how a trigger is "accidently" pulled, or did you mean negligently pulled? There is a huge difference and on that DAO revolver you were using for reference, there's absolutely no excuse for that trigger to be pulled unless intended.

I understand you feel the need to be armed to protect your loved ones, but it's unfortunate that in your country you need one. Here in 🇨🇦 we generally don't need to arm ourselves
@NewBeganningsAgain2 күн бұрын
It’s not just due to being able to protect ourselves and loved ones. The constitution is taken very serious by many in this country. And many stand behind it. We have the most alienable rights and freedoms in the world and we exercise them and stand behind them so we never lose them. Think of it like being practice makes perfect. But in some places throughout America there are some pretty crime ridden areas unfortunately. Usually here if you keep to yourself. You’re usually okay though.
@NewBeganningsAgain2 күн бұрын
You may be a part of America in the near future if Trump has his way. I’m hoping not but if you do become a part of it. We will welcome you with open arms and you will get all our freedoms including the 2nd amendment.
@MATTMASONMUSIC2 күн бұрын
It's not unfortunate, it's a right. A right that I value highly. It's not protection from "bad guys" only. My dad was out on a walk in a rural area and a vicious dog came to attack, he saved himself much harm by being armed.
