Nice choice of multitool, I have the smaller version, the Rebar, but can't EDC it as locking blades are verboten here in UK, it's in my go-bag and if I EDC a larger mt it's the MP600 bladeless, but I always have a slipjoint folder or 2 with me. Back when I was in HM Forces we'd only be able to have that much in our pockets on exercise, in camp appearances went over practicality lol so we weren't allowed bulges in our pockets, just our ID card and wallet. I used to push it a bit and carried a Victorinox old style German Army knife too.

You do a very good job in your presentations. Also, you may already be aware of them, but the aqua pouch by survival resources seems to be the best container I am aware of for edc containers on your person. It is significantly tougher than ziplock bags and is more like a heavy duty jerky bag.It also has a ziptop, grommets, and a 1 litre line for adding purification tabs. They are a bit pricey, but are very good and can be repaired pretty simply as a bonus. To me it is worth the investment. Check them out if you are looking for a simple upgrade.

Sir, In response to your question on the orange marker, though I see it may have been answered in the comments: Signal Panel Marker NSN: 8345-00-140-4232 This is a single piece of cloth with edges that have no seam. 1.7 ounces and about 40" x 40". Probably based on the idea of MIL-P-43743 of the Vietnam War era, but should have a label and the cut ends should be fused, so this may be a modern unofficial copy. Part of aircrew survival equipment, USAF/USN. I keep one as part of my civilian hiking/backpacking kit as well as my uniform.

Sir, if you transition to the Zebra F-701, you can also change the cartridge to the Fisher Space Pen. It is one of my favourite set ups. You do not need to make any mods, it takes literally 2 seconds to remove the rubber gasket with a common pin from the tip of the F-701 and you just put in a Fisher Space Pen refill body. A system that will not let you down. A Mechanical Pencil from Pentel P205 with 2B (perfect for map work) and a Sharpie are also excellent additions. Thank you Sir.
@DaibheadSeamas3 жыл бұрын
I second the F-701/Space Pen “mod.” I’ve carried that combo for a year now and use it all the time. Works like a charm. Also, the 701 comes in an all-metal version that I highly recommend. Bombproof. You can sometimes find the pen at Walmart, or you can get the pen and matching mechanical pencil on Amazon.

@@pepelemoko01 I have carried a Fisher Bullet Space Pen under my wallet for years, in my left front pocket. It has come in handy many times. Post the cap and one essentially has a full sized pen. At the moment though I have a Pen-Go Titanium Pen by Maratac, just for variety. The Pen-Go Titanium Pen by Maratac is smaller, but is waterproof. It will not act as a full sized pen but I find I can actually use it to jot notes just fine. If I was trying to fit a refill actually inside my wallet I would consider a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife replacement refill (2 dif lengths). They are actually also pressurized. I always enjoy Andrew's videos and it was fun seeing his pocket contents. He carries different items than I do although we have some overlap. One thing that I always find essential is a small flashlight. I find I use a flashlight multiple times a day and find it essential.

You could add small Zip tie to the valve button. The light once emptied, has two small springs under the spark ⚡️ wheel and valve button. The child safety device can be removed with the Leatherman. Then it and the two springs can be bent and sharpened into a snare wire and fishing hooks.

Your aviators panel… a close second MIGHT be to get a white cotton tea towel or grade 100 cheesecloth (thin material) and dye it orange. Then you have the advantage of having a material you can char, use as a cravat, filter, etc… Don’t know if it would work for all the purposes you use the panel for.
@carypeaden41472 жыл бұрын
As a civilian outdoorsman (hunter), I would like a large orange panel made out of 100% cotton. It could be used for signaling, as a bandana/bandage/..., or to make charcloth if needed. I ended up buying a 100% cotton orange "Rothco Shemagh Tactical" for about $13, but it is fancier than I needed. I am surprised no one is making large orange panels or Cravats for civilians. I know I can just get some orange fabric and make my own large panel or cravat, but I think I would need to sew the edges with a serger to stop the threads from unraveling and I don't know how to do that yet.

@RangerSurvivalandFieldCraft4 жыл бұрын
Sadly, there are no issued kits unless specifically called for e.g. operations or schooling. I have video soon on what items I was issued for survival training. What I carry in this video is probably unique given my own take on kits and experience, but not entirely unrepresentative of kits as a whole for what military personnel may carry. A great example, I think, is my 10 C’s military issue video which goes over commonly issued items for every US soldier he/she may receive that constitute a survival kit item list. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWampKawgpyrg7s
