This is an epic video featuring footage from King Of The Skateparks and a sit-down interview with the man himself.
Edward Lynn "Eddie" Fiola (born Sep 28, 1964) is an American former professional freestyle BMX rider, and a film stuntman. In 1982 Bob Morales started up the ASPA (Amateur Skatepark Association which would later become the AFA or American Freestyle Association) and began the legendary king of the skateparks competitions in the USA. Eddie Fiola would go on to win it a total of 5 times along with 4 freestyle Nora (Number One Rider Award) cups including the first one ever to be awarded in 1985 and with having the idea for the potts modification or hollow stem bolt.
This led to him becoming one of the most famous and highly paid freestyle BMX riders of his time reputedly earning around $100,000 in a year and appearing on the cover of countless magazines. Later he became a stuntman in films such as The Dukes of Hazzard, The Italian Job and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

I had a chance to be with Eddie in Carterville GA last weekend. He is still true to form as a performer, gentleman, and professional. Someone at the event had this video in the box for Eddie to sign.

It's great to see this video again. When I produced it years ago we were all much younger as was the sport. It's great to see where the sport has come today to even be involved with the Olympics. Eddie was a great person to work with and continues to be an outstanding gentleman and athlete and professional.

Growing up in Lakewood in the 80's, my buddies and I would bike over to Eddie's house after school and sit and watch him on his quarter pipe _ dude dropped in from his roof onto the ramp... Hey Eddie, remember "two walls" and the jumps out at Liberty park in Cerritos...good times !

Eddie's house near MayFair High, good times. I remember the city laid concrete strips at the bottom of 2Walls and Bad lands preventing us from riding them. Lakewood? Hayter's wall was a crazy wall ride.

I always used to think his outfits were a bit too much but looking back I get it. I think a lot of people just like them because he was so huge and popular and commercial but hell you can’t fault the guy for making a few bucks doing what he’s good at Now looking back and having seen some of his other recent interviews, he could tell he’s just a genuinely nice guy and he seems really chill. And of course, he was undeniably. Amazing. I’ve been back in the day. His high errors blew my mind, and nobody does a smoother silkier Allie-oop!
