Thanks Keith, a real bit of common sense. I'm tired of some of the 'talking heads' on some of the forums and Tube Channels being so negative. We took a massive hit with regards to suspensions and injuries just a couple of weeks after we spanked Villa. Our Midfield was completely desimmated with all honesty. Yeah, we still need another Centre Forward - possibly two if we let go of Wilson in the summer as expected, a decent Number 6 and maybe another Centre-Back (or two due to losing Dummet and Lascelles). We're still building and that will take time - but we now have the team we always wanted: One that tries!

It's fine to disagree with formations, tactics etc., but those who are questioning Eddie's position because they think we should be in the top 6 despite the injuries etc., are showing the childish entitlement usually shown by Man Utd & Liverpool fans. Every journey to the top there is period of plateau. EH managed in the UCL for the first time in his career. A lot of the players first experience in the UCL too. We're fine. EH is going a great job! HOWAY THE LADS

Spot on keith, most fans are well behind eddie. Look at difference yesterday when had willock back and options from bench. We have had horrendous injury list , tonali banned and very hard fixtures nealy all away in cups , on top of hardest group in champions league. He deserves next season after getting some new players in sunmer and having more squad depth.

Sky and the rest of them just love the fact we are not doing very well,and for the rest of other teams supports would like to think that us Newcastle fans want Eddie out I still think that maybe he has90% of the fan base,just the injuries have crippled us this season,maybe those on social media or if win he great but if we lose he should go.i really hope that he would get at least another season but like for me a few more yrs as our manager

It's simple iff EH had a full squad of fit players then we would be in a much better position in league ..we have been decimated with long term freakish injuries as we all know ...but to suggest and even start new manager gossip is down right disrespectful considering what EH and his team have managed in the short time they have been at NUFC...Hes not perfect by any means and seems to have a stubborn streak regarding who he prefers in the first 11 but all in all give the guy a break ..Thanks for the blog Keith

If Eddie gets replaced, usually the incoming manager would bring his own backroom staff in therefore, it would be back to square one, and it would take a few seasons to get up and running. Makes no sense at all to sack Eddie.

The season has been a nightmare for injuries - especially with a squad not exactly rich in depth with quality in the first place? I believe EH will manage next season as I feel this season has been very difficult for the various reasons that has been given. My only concern with EH is his lack of willingness to try a different format with those players he has had at line to potentially preventing some of those draws to a win. I am sure we will finish better now some of those injuries are returning but as EH I will be supporting the Toon next season no mater what happens this season.👍

It's not about winning, it never was. It has been about giving it everything to try and win but we are in relegation form and we are making some of the worst teams in the league and championship look like prime Barcelona every week. Our goalkeeper is now consistently man of the match. There is something fundamentally wrong with our attitude tactics selection and how we play. EH was ear marked for replacement at the end of the season after the european exit to milan at home... it is not altogether a surprise; our away form is horrendous, EH tries to defend a 1 goal lead by defending deep... & loyalty rather than being ruthless with starting xl selections which have hurt us against the quicker teams... personally, i am not surprised.
