I saw Suzy's Hamlet here in Chicago last night for my birthday. She did some DELIGHTFUL stuff with the text and characters. my favorite bits are how she handled Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, her facial expressions, her use of silence and pauses, and particularly how well she highlights how VERY funny Hamlet really is as a play.

Brilliant iconoclast Eddie Suzy Izzard dies it all, has for many years broken through the barriers of "normalcy" through his outrageous comedy routines, his acute world & political observations, and here, sets the stage for his 29 character solo performance of Hamlet! BravA, bravissima, bravo 👏 👏👏👏👏👏👏❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

Okay, I knew Eddie was doing Hamlet but I didn't know it was a one person show! I wish I could see that. If anyone can handle quick-fire conversations (and swordfights!) with themself on stage, it's Eddie!! I feel she's been practicing for this her whole career!

The protean character of Shakespeare's works once again demonstrate his varied adaptability. You might as well go along with the Western Canon.

I've always loved Izzard in whichever guise. A master of building instant rapport. Regarding the persona it made me feel uncomfortable when I first saw him dressed as a woman but he quickly made me realise he was a person - first and foremost behind the makeup and clothes. I felt uncomfortable again when he lean't into the body changes and uncomfortable again with the transition to Suzy Izzard but every time s/he's made me look past and see s/he's the same person and made me realise my own failings to accept. Keep doing what you do mate. You help make humanity better by sharing your amazing journey.

I DON'T understand how Americans say monARC-key, anARC-key but can't say IzzARD rather than Izz-urd!?!?....😬 😬 😬

Why does he wear make up and women’s clothes. He’s a bloke.

She's not a woman, not a bloke either, but she's free to dress however she wishes and to wear make-up.

I love Eddie and have been a fan since I have discovered him on YT but accommodating this fluidity mental issues feels like a silly thing. Have at it, not sure where this leads, seems sillier than a dancing chestnut.

Would it be unethical to nominate a telling handle for Trump supporters. If so how about Sille Putty. It explains their propensity for the influence he has over them with his lies.

There's nothing wrong with a man playing a woman. But he's not a woman. I find it offensive to every female member of my family and friends for him to assert that he is and for so many people to confirm it.

@capie1410 That has absolutely nothing to do with what I said. No I don't believe in God anymore than I believe a biological male is a woman

I’m a cis woman and I’m fine with it. But it figures that a man would think he gets to speak for us. 🤡

@kathleenhudsonbest4927 I speak for myself. No-one else. Out of curiosity, what is a woman?

@@benwakefield93 What a piece of work is a man, how noble in reason, how infinite in faculty, in form and moving how express and admirable, In action how like an angel, in apprehension how like a god, the beauty of the world, the paragon of animals. And yet to me, what is this quintessence of dust? Man delights not me; no, nor Woman neither.
