He's acting as if the club was some higher authority that doesn't have to answer to the fans at all rather than framing the fans themselves as the ones whose charity is keeping the club alive (which it is). It's just poor PR, that's all. If he had worded this right, he'd probably have been able to turn this trainwreck into more financial support for the club.

Eddie everywhere, if a person pays you for a product and you cannot supply, they are entitled to a refund. The same goes for the membership, it is the product. They buy a membership to see the games and that cannot happen at the moment. The question was simple, you’re not a politician so don’t try and politicise the answer with long winded answers when a simple YES/NO would do. After which you are quite entitled to explain the reasons for your answer, which in this case would seem to have been an OUTRIGHT - NO!

Who knows after this is all over the footy may just return back to suburban grounds where we can walk to the ground watch ‘the 2’s’ and then the seniors contest, buy a beer, eat a pie and watch the kids kick the footy on the ground after the match. Do we really need the huge corporate ‘driver’ behind it?. People seemed more than happy with it for decades up until the seventies until the ‘Big Boys’ moved in. Wasn't like people just stopped caring afterwards, the UN, marshal plan and occupation forces came after WW2 where in this case the 'most important time' was just seen as, 'guess we over reacted, back to normal now'. Eddie was right, a run on the clubs because of over-reaction could of still been affecting the clubs till today if many/all folded and the AFL would be a shadow of itself because of panic during the 'most important time', lol. Happy Eddie seen the bigger picture because I think anyone watching this wants AFL to go strong no matter what club they support and their strong views during that time.

Eddie is passionate about his club. Collingwood footy club invest in their community (i think). Passionate about footy too. I went to headspace a few times at collingwoods vfl ground. Idk if collingwood have anything to do with that but if they do thank god! They have gps and mental health nurse to see. Of course Eddie isnt going to say youll get membership refunds. He was there to say support your footy club, we support you

As a Hawks supporter, I've seen more Collingwood supporters stay to very end even when they're getting flogged than those of other clubs including my own. I've no doubt most of the black and white army will not dream of asking for a refund
