Thank you for posting. My DVR did not record the introduction. It started when Bogart is buying the cigarettes after swiping the tennis racket. I can't remember what happened prior to that. It's been a few years since I saw the movie. I always enjoy Eddie Muller's information. Thanks again.

Can't believe someone actually preferred the Jack Palance remake to Bogie's performance in the this earlier production. To me this is the one and only movie with a lot of stand out performances besides Humphrey Bogarts.

Its interesting to see a young bogie especially after hearing he was dying for this part.

Burnett would later write THE ASPHALT JUNGLE, and the film adaptation was directed by John Houston. Mark Hellinger has a theater in NYC named after him.

Thanks again. Great movie, but I must be honest...I prefer the 1955 remake called "I Died a Thousand Times." ;) It's basically identical, but I thought Palance and Winters had better chemistry than Bogart and Lupino, who are two favorites of mine. * shrug *

I'll take the originaal everytime! Besides how could you resurrect Roy Earle! So the Paalance movie is nonsensical because of Earles death in 1941! Not as good as the Bogart Lupino original because it's the authentic version!
