I can't think of a better way of showing the season's monster for the first time, and not only evoking dread for what's to come, but also signifying that this season's monster will be on a whole nother level than what we have seen so far. The blend into his character's intro was the cherry on top. ❤️

I found an interview from the duffer brothers and they said that Steve was originally supposed to be like Billy; a huge, irredeemable asshole (well, Billy without the sad backstory and the whole saving El) BUT! They liked Joe Keery so much that he charmed them into keeping Steve and giving him a good arc. I'm super glad they did, I love what steve has become, I love Steve and Dustin's friendship, and I love Eddie.
