The way I see it, in D&D lore Vecna has the large hand that has his dark magic and spells in it. The Duffers kept to that and gave Vecna the same hand in the show, following the lore. In D&D, when Kas, who was a human who was turned into a vampire, betrays Vecna, he cuts off his oversized hand and cuts out his eye. Obviously the Duffers with this part of the storyline so far have been keeping to the D&D lore. If that’s the case, the person who cuts off the hand, the ONLY person, is Kas who is a vampire, who was turned by bats….now, I wonder who that could be. Remember, the Duffers have said, Demobats don’t kill, but I’m sure at Vecnas order they can turn a human into a vampire. El dosent take his hand and eye, Kas (HAS to be Eddie) does.

Yes, and in the Spitfire Club campaign Eddie as the DM says the same. The kids are sure the monster can’t be Vecna because they thought him dead from a previous campaign, then Eddie brings back the Vecna play piece and says Vecna comes back without an eye and arm, but he is not dead. Might be wishful thinking but Kas the bloody handed is Edward the Vanished.

Just to let you know. Eddie is still alive because theres a character in the dnd who got his power by getting bitten by the bats n is the powerful vampire who can defeat vecna, btw there is gonna be the dragon who is the strongest monster in dnd n who will be appeared in Stranger Things Season 5. Mike might sacrificing because in Wills painting, he was infront of the Dragon protecting his friends n people or Dustin by seeing Eddie dying. And theres might be alot of monster in Season 5 that's coming from every Seasons.

I've watched season 4 over and over again just to see Eddie. I'm convinced that the Duffers have a plan to bring him back in season 5 in some form which is why Joseph Quinn, when asked if Eddie is coming back doesn't say no, he says "I don't know". HE KNOWS. Well I'm convinced! Dustin and Steve will sneak back into the upsiderdown to retrieve Eddie's body for a decent burial. It's dangerous but it's the least they can do for the guy. They find the place where he died and the body is...gone. Did the bats eat him? Why is his guitar gone too? Then they see a shadowy figure in the distance, carrying a familiar guitar... Which has some implications for Steve too, if being bit by demobats and then dying turns you into a vampire. Steve better try his best not to die.

Honestly, as much as i do love Eddie, I feel like it's better if he doesn't come back...his character arc was perfect... I just wish people will get to know that he wasn't the criminal but it was vecna (maybe sometime in season 5). It would just seem so unrealistic if he comes back...without any deaths, ST just wouldn't progress.. if you know what I mean, like a show needs to have deaths to move on right?

I mean it’s all just fun theorizing. Vecna doesn’t know about D&D lore so he wouldn’t be aware of Kas at all. Also Will said Vecna isn’t dead at the end of s4 and said he’s hurt (probs looking to strengthen his ranks again). Who knows?? 🤷🏼‍♀️
