It's funny Eddie said he never dated Whitney but Whitney said in an interview with Jamie Foster that her and Bobby did together that her and Eddie dated for two years. Everybody blame Bobby but I blame Eddie Murphy. Here’s why… if she had never gotten into a fling with Eddie Murphy, she would not have gotten hurt by him. Whitney really fell for Eddie and he dogged her out, bad! Arsenio was a true friend to Eddie because he was the one who truly cared for and had that relationship with Whitney that neither Eddie nor Bobby had with her, but yet it seems his love for her was the purist. Arsenio being Eddie’s friend; could not make a move on Whitney. Whitney wanted more; as much as she threw herself at Eddie, it did not work in her favor and that hurt her to the core. Unfortunately this is when things started to spiraled out of control, she meets Bobby soon after realizing “Eddie don’t want me as much as I want him.” Arsenio was in the middle of it all, trying to be a friend to Eddie, in love with Whitney and before he could make his move at a respectful time, Bobby was there and he basically treated her the same way Eddie did.

People have to understand that, yessss, Whitney was a beautiful attractive & very much worthy woman for him, but so was the other women that he was seeing at the same time. He had his options....his cake! He didn't need to chose. So much was available to him. And she being wealthy was not a big thing to him either because he was wealthy too! The one thing that went against it was her cigarette habit. Perhaps the other chics he was seeing did not smoke! He definitely spent time with Whitney, romanced her & gifted her, but perhaps she was not the only woman that he did those things for....it was nothing for him to do those things for a beautiful worthy woman, he had plenty of $$$......and it wasn't about that for Whitney anyways......she had plenty of $$$ too! When he called her on her wedding day, I don't believe his intent was to distract & deter her from marrying someone else, I believe he just cared enough about her that he did not want to see her make a huge mistake marrying Bobby Brown! He knew Whitney deserved better, and much more, even if he wasn't ready for her himself! People got that twisted! Eddie Murphy can sit in these interviews and deny all he wants, but no man gifts a woman the kind of ring he gave her, just to be doing something. When he gifted Whitney that big beautiful gorgeous ring, that was a statement, letting her know that he loved her, he cared, she's worth it to him, but he just was not there yet on the same page of what she wanted! Whitney was in her mid 20s and ready to get married cause she wanted to start a family! Eddie was having babies with different women.....clearly not ready to settle at that time! He eventually did after Whitney moved on. And now he's divorced. Neither Eddie nor Bobby were actually any good for Whitney!
