I remember watching an interview backstage with Eddie and he explains how to do the Elephant. Turn the volume down and dump the bar, with the bar all the way down hit the 5th fret harmonic on the g, 7th on the b, and 9th on the high E as you raise the bar back up and turn up the volume simultaneously. I wonder if this is where Dime got the inspiration for his harmonic squeals?! Guess we'll never know... 😭😥😪 Excellent video as always Marty, thank you and keep rockin' brother man!!! 🤘🤘🤘

Just how he kept his rig in tune on the fly, by over bending and using fast and quick pull ups on the bar. Using 3 n 1 oil as well on the nut, and how he balanced the bridge poles. The guy was amazing without question.

Would be great if you can show people how to get close to Eddie's tone using moderate budget modeling equipment similar to the headrush board or the smaller helix units. A lot of people don't have the budget to go out and get the 5150 amp and all the overpriced EVH branded pedals. I'm sure it's possible to dial in something close with a generic phaser , chorus, flanger , delay etc? And I don't mean in software, something that's a portable rig that you can connect to an frfr speaker or a smaller amp and a 1x12 cab

You're welcome! I'm plugged in to a fractal ax8 for KZbin stuff. I run it stereo in to pro tools. Most of the time it's a Friedman BE setting and Friedman IR's with delay and reverb added in protools just for mixing purposes.

Thanks! Well, I use a fractal ax8 with a Freidman BE patch. I have the Friedman IR bundle and run a stereo Freidman IR. I set the proximity settings to sound a bit fuller. Then run stereo into pro tools. I add all FX in pro tools. Usually just a stereo delay and stereo reverb. I set my delays at about. 10%. 360-400 left. 550-700 right. It just varies on my mood. Put the feedback at like 25% Standard plate reverb at about 11-17% mix

I know this one is out of Tune, but it's still a VH story nevertheless as ugly as it is. Matthew Perry is now opening up and telling people he made out with Val, while Ed was passed out on the floor, in the same room. Talk about 2 Cockroaches, that need a can of Raid.
