im late to the party but the middlepart of the song uses egyptian notes which would be phyrigian or its diminished h/f step (which has a bunch of the same notes) if you play the notes a bit simpler you can get quite a more edgy sound and stuff. essentially most evil-sounding metal is in diminished and phyrigian. though since theres metal distorted guitars instead of nice singing, it gives off different vibes. lol

The production on the vocals is very foward while still being as wide as possible. Great use of sidechain compression on the reverb too 2:32, it really does a lot for the feel of the song. I don't know who's mix decision that was but it's incredible.

There is no sidechain on the verb. There are two busses responding to the synth's riff. There is a slight delay plus a reverb with a small decay which gradually appear in the breakdown. No need for ducking the effects with sidechaining.

you know its funny that you say that bc to me, this music reminds me A LOT of past music. You can tell he derived a lot sounds from what sounds like early/mid vocal/dream trance. Trust me listen to delirium- Tiesto, Structure- Das licht, or some other old school trance songs. They don't sound exactly the same bc the other ones are a little outdated and EDDIE takes a little from dubstep and other new genres but you'll definitely feel that same ambient. I'm so glad this music is making its way up bc I love trance and even tho most trance is dead, this gives me the same feeling that old school trance does. Hope this music catches on and replaces some of the more trendy, tasteless EDM out there.
