Middle of the pacific, USS Dubuque, 2008, ~2am. I'm passing out in my rack after a 4 hour watch. Going to bed background sounds are a choice between ventilation ducts and doors opening and closing, or headphones and music. Album I decided to pass out listening to was "This is sander kleinenberg" CD2. Had picked it up earlier on in the deployment when we were in Qatar, along with One+One and Anjunadeep vol1. So I'm passed out in minutes despite the progressive house blasting away in my headphones...45 minutes later; A part of me wakes up. I'm not awake fully. Eyes closed, aware of my existence, but not here. Just kind of floating. Then BSOD - Game Over kicks in full swing and I tell ya, I was in another dimension for the most of the track. One of the coolest things I remember about deployment lol, and I was in a tiny ass rack 3 in a cramped birthing compartment. Still, It was F***ing Epic. Been a BSOD fan ever since! :)

Really takes me back to when I first got into making electronic music... It all started with early deadmau5 and BSOD. Ironically, I didn't like them at first, but I sucked ass at making the same music so it slowly grew on me. I still do it to this day and have gotten way better. This reminds me of 4x4's seriousness/melodies/amount of work. Out of any I missed 4x4 the most, it's what I started on. Also had a 2 18 ported wall to slam it but still wasn't quite enough compared to rap - to get solid kicks I would stick to a sealed box with deadmau5 music.
