There is no GFR without Mark Farner. A reunion tour would be incredible. Just do it for the fans like Mark says. Us fans can only hope

I have seen enough interviews with Mark, so let me guess, he is willing to get back together but it’s the other two members fault. Some comments: the GFR that’s touring is not a “cover-band.” It has 2 of the 3 original member’s, including one that either co-sang, or sang lead on some of their original hits. Also, they have been touring together with their current band, longer than GFR were together. What are they, or Mark for that matter, supposed to do with their current band members if they got back together? An FYI, GFR evolved from a MI band called The Pack. Don Brewer was in that band before Mark was, so whose the original. Interviewers only get Mark’s side of the story. We truly don’t know what went on to cause the rift. Could it have been Mark’s foray into Christian music? Only they know. The current GFR has been touring constantly for years. While some might not like them without Mark, apparently many do. Mark may see the potential dollars they generate and think,he would like some of that action as well. They may think, we don’t need him. If one is a purist and says I will never see GFR without Mark, do you see other groups without their original members? If so, why? Why not just go see the current GFR and Mark separately? BTW, I believe Mark was one of the great singers in rock and roll, in the Grand Funk heyday.

But compare Mark's attitude to that of John Fogerty toward his old bandmates in Credence. Its a very similar situation, but its refreshing to me that Mark, unlike John, has no bitterness toward Don and Mel, and willing to join them at a moment's notice. His ego isn't near as inflated as John ("I carried the team, I wrote all the songs, you dirtbags would be nothing without me") Fogerty. He could be and he would have every right to be bitter, but he's not
