Can't believe I was in my 60s before I "discovered" Eddie Vedder. I am trying to make up for time lost - what a talent!

One guy and a guitar. This is called talent.
@WellAlwaysHaveParis9 жыл бұрын
The critic in the movie Ratatouille said 'The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The “New” needs friends.' The truth is these lyrics may be relatively new but they are great - TRULY GREAT. Why cant they be as good as Dylan or Lennon, what have you? Greatness is greatness...and those lyrics are great. "Circles they grow and they swallow people whole...Half their lives they say goodnight to wives they'll never know...Got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul - And so it goes"
@mississippijohnfahey71755 жыл бұрын
Dylan and Lennon were creations of the record industry. There were more great guitarists in those days than we'll ever know, and there are now. The only difference is the market is so saturated, there's no one telling us who's great anymore.

Never realized how good of a "Travis picker" he is... the fingerpicking pattern is tricky but seems effortless played by him.
@hootsnboots7 жыл бұрын
Travis the Great do you know if he's picking with his ring finger too? Or is it just thumb index middle?
@Weloz927 жыл бұрын
Brian Hoots No ring finger at all, and that explains how he blazes through the pattern like nothing (took me waaaaay too long to realize this); when the camera switch to certain angles, you can see that finger laying straight and not touching the strings.

He's so professional when playing his songs, he's always playing it perfectly as on the albums - despite many other artists doesn't seem to focus on that matter at all when playing live, but as a part of an audience; i do.

His voice is even better live. It´s so warm, and deep, and full of soul, and it flows through the room. The room is completely silent and it´s a precious moment, you just feel it, you feel his voice, and it touches you. You wish for it never to be over, cause it´s a beautiful, beautiful moment. And you feel the music; happiness and sadness washes over you, but you are not alone.

Eddie has made me feel just like the writing of Murakami. As if something somehow entered through an opening in my spirit, and lit a nice warm fire. The fire entrains you, like a man whose been mesmerized by a woman, but never leaves you or molests you: it's the kind of love you can rely on. It's the kind of love that assures your survival despite circumstance. Eddie Vedder, I wish you the best my friend.
