How do you handle shots in the kitchen in skinny singles? Don't you need a line down the middle of the kitchen?

It's been fun to watch you get so much matter. Guess having a great coach (cough cough Simone) doesn't hurt. I love playing skinny singles.

Would you make a video with singles badminton dimension lines added?

I am just learning skinny singles...Just started playing PB about 9 mos ago....So when if the combined score is even you play from the right (deuce) side...If odd score, you play from the left side (add) correct? You can win points if you are serving or receiving correct? If you are the receiver and win the point off the server, you get to serve the next point, correct and vice versa? Just want to make sure I understand the basics of skinny singles scoring....Thanks

There are actually numerous ways to play skinny singles. Some people only use half the court to where you play directly across from your opponent the entire game. Some people play cross-court skinny singles, where you are ONLY hitting cross court shots the entire time (the side you are on is dictated by the score of the server and you only score on your serve). The way I prefer to play is blending the two, to where the entire court gets used throughout a game. The way that works is you ONLY move if YOU score a point. So if the score is 0-0 and you are the server, you'd be on the right side of your court serving to the opponent (who is on the right side of THIER court). If you score a point, you'd move to the left side for your next serve, but the opponent stays where they are at. Therefore, for the next point (when you are serving with a score of 1-0) it will be only using the left half of the court for that entire rally. I hope this helps! -Webby

Eddie you played great. A suggestion... think lob once in a while. It's a good shot when used discriminately. Also I enjoy your videos.

Thank you Michael! I appreciate the advice. I actually used the lob shot about once per match, but most of them didn’t make it into this highlight reel. And also, with skinny singles, since your lob accuracy has to be much better than in doubles or full court singles, I typically only use it when I’m presented with a very short dink and I have great balance and court position. -Eddie

@@EddieAndWebby Thank you for responding. Your game has improved greatly since I first saw your videos with Simone. You have a great attitude and it comes through. Keep it up.

I feel like ATPs make even less sense in skinny singles? Like expecting the other player to have even a chance of defending shots that don't land even close to the regular play area seems insane to me. Not trying to call you out, if those are the rules, those are the rules, just seems very odd that it should be ok.

Hi Eddie, I am new in town and would love to play singles pickleball. I played pickleball for the first time at Veterans Park last saturday, but it seems everyone plays only doubles. I would love to play full court singles because of the work out. How do I go about finding players interested in singles pickleball? Thanks!

Lot of matches which is nice. You played well and steady except that donut game. The time you spent with Simone has made you a better player and it shows....just have to reduce unforced errors. Good luck In full singles play !
