It amazes me how long some of the NX scenes are. It takes skill to deliver that many lines flawlessly like these guys so often did.

I was thinking the exact same thing! Also, overall, I can't get over what a hell of a lot of work and money must have gone into making a show like this. And to do all of this in time to complete one show every week is incomprehensible to me! Hard hard work for a lot of people, but the financial return on investment must be astronomical too.

It remains, for me, one of the best shows that network television ever broadcast. It was this fantastic stew of comedy and drama and soap and fantasy and satire. Sadly, it looks like we won't see it streaming, probably due to music rights. I just have to be grateful for the DVD's, even with some song substitutions.

@eduardo_corrochio I hope you're reading this but Yes, they HAVE added it to streaming; the entire show is on amazon prime. i checked and all the original music *seems* to be intact. i wrote a full review of it on the season 1 page on there if you're interested. the dvds and uk blu ray are definitely still worth it though.

There is a known example of John Cullum's Dailie in The Brick behind the bar. Each take just a slight bit difference in expression, tempo, and dramatic pause.....all to give the director just enough variety. John and Barry both were the apex actors in the series. Morrow gets a lot of credit but I have a feeling his melancholy was real and not an act.

It is interesting to note that the first known use of King's English is in 1553 to reference "correct" speech that was already in place. While the opposing point.. speaking "ghetto" didn't even exist until hundreds of years later so the comparison is factually flawed but still a good scene, I mean they are only television writers anyway

Looked like a one take by me. Doing multiple takes appears a waste of time for fine actors like NE had.
