This show came out when I was in my early teens and I totally loved it. It always made me feel optimistic about the future and how life would be. I suppose I thought I would live in a town like that where people were all struggling together to try to find something out or experience something meaningful through literature and philosophy. In my 40s now I’m kinda bummed it didn’t turn out like that. Maybe it was up to me to create that and I got distracted

@anikaecker1721 : I wouldn't say that it got better every season. That last season or so after Rob Morrow's departure, at the very least this show's writing plateaued -- if not went downhill. Paul Provenza was a decent comedian prior to being cast to be Rob's replacement on this show, but he was boring in this role. He did nothing to make me compelled to want to invest my time into believing in his character.

The reality is whatever they write for the characters, if they bring it back, will never live up to the original. However, I would be interested in a northern exposure movie that focuses on a reunion between as many of the main characters...Joel, Maggie, Ed, Chris, Maurice, Holling, Shelly, Marilyn, Chris's brother (can't remember), etc.

@zantetsu8674

This is true. And I believe that it was a lot more than "a few episodes", I think all licensed music was removed. You have to search for and download the digital version that is floating around that has the original music. It was recorded from a Canadian broadcasting station. Technically it is illegal to own because they are not licensed copies; but I bought the DVDs also (the entire set), and never opened them, just so that I felt somewhat justified in also downloading the restored versions.

There is something weird almost Lynch like about this segment. It's brilliant. But I'm expecting a hip New Orleans character to walk through a scene quacking like a duck, or a sudden shot of somebody's shoe to then see a cockroach( or cockroaches) fall out of a pant leg and go scurrying across the floor and up somebody else's pant leg.

But we settled all our accounts when he cashed in his chips on the night of New Years Eve 2001 on 2nd Ave South in Great Falls Montana. (Him and his damned cigarettes) Cremated him and tossed his ashes into Thain Creek, in the High Woods, near one of his Elk hunting areas.

From Jules Et Joel, or rather not used. Alas mostly an episode dedicated to a dreamlike scenario (with the Wizard of Oz references) and a reawakening. It could be assumed using the real life situation Holling off to Seattle to pay a debt probably did not fit into the thematic implications. Plus I think they decided to expand more upon the Jules/Joel flip in identities adventure that proved move comical and opening a window to the dark side of Joel and also for Chris (who probably was trying to come to grips actually being the mad bomber). Probably Rob Morrow's greatest performance in the entire series.
