I recommend you check if the engine has been replaced by Ford. No way am I going to purchase a pre-owned GT350 over a Dark Horse. Ford hasn't used the Voodoo in other Mustangs because of issues. The Dark Horse uses the much stronger and durable Coyote. The article didn't mention that the Dark Horse Coyote uses GT500 engine components to strengthen the Dark Horses Coyote that now redlines at 7500 RPMs. I noticed on U-Tube there's a couple supercharged Dark Horse daily drivers turning 8 second and low 9 second passes. The only way I would purchase a base 2016 pre-owned GT350 for $47,000 or a pre-owned 2020 Base GT350 for $72,600 would be for adding to my Collection. Certainly not as a daily driver

@@DWH300 I agree with you but I think if you go with a 2019/20 gt350 those specific engine issues were resolved. I like the dark horse and the 5.0 coyote as well but I guess because I’m a current Shelby owner I kinda am now a Shelby snob lol 😂. I like the looks of the S550 especially on the gt350 more then a S650 dark horse. We’ll see what happens I’m probably not going to get one yet anyway since now I have to remodel parts of my house that hurricane Milton damaged! 😤 it’s always something

Great review! Don't like the screens for the dash...not my thing. I like the analog-vibes of my 2008 GT/CS. Manual, CAI, tune, lowered/handling upgrades and exhaust. Not as fast as this for sure, but I like the retro looks, analog feel and the sound of the 4.6 3V is soooo sweet and unique sounding. Keep up the great vids EddieX!!

I like the dark horse but I must say I really don’t like the screens. I thoroughly enjoy my Mach 1 with the handling pack and would not upgrade to the dark horse. I did however get an allocation for the GTD which will have the screens from the dark horse.

The EU version have some differences, such as the first button on middle plastic panel beside the start button is for turning off the auto start/stop function, which I appreciate (I just push it when starting the car, so it's not turning off the engine on the lights). Also I do not have dark horse logo under the side mirror (on the ground), but standard pony from side view. I noticed you have three small buttons on the top shade, which I do not have there and I am wondering what are they for. Just small thing I noticed and am using in day to day driving the car, I use customized slippery mode, because it eats less fuel (approx. less 3L/100km) and the car does not need to be first at the next traffic lights in the city all the time. And speaking about the Dark Ember color, without the PPF foil, it's dirty all the time, like ALL THE TIME... with the foil it's kind of must have to not drive dirty muscle car :/.

Eddie, the Dark Horse beats the GT-350R and Corvette C8 Z51 on every track on the East Coast (21 tracks). The DH hasn’t lost to those other two cars on any major track this year. Go through the Ford Dark Horse training in NC and you will see why it is so fluid and quick on the track. My neighbor tracks his DH 🐎 weekly and he reduced his overall weight down to 3640 which is 26 pounds lighter than my C8 Z51. It is a hell of a car. The average price out the door for the Dark Horse with the $4500 handling package not $5500 as you stated is $74K. Nobody is really buying the $8500 Carbon Wheels. Cheers‼️👍👊💪🇺🇸🐎😎

If you’re careful with driveways, bumps, appropriate speed and angle I found it to be fine. Was always super careful with my GT350R front splitter too and it was fine!

Great review. What is your difference from the 350 to the 350R that slots the DH in between them? I love the Voodoo 5.2 paired with cup2 tires on the 2019 & 2020 350 and 350R. The R will always be faster, but the fantastic engine is the same. Suspension is nearly the same. All out track day the R is better. I like the heated and cooled seats, back seats that fold down and the slightly higher splitter for clearance on my roads.

@ that’s the problem. There’s certain things about each that I like. I like muscle cars and their “coolness” factor lol. I like the styling of both. Like the power and glass roof of the Shelby. I like the analog gauges of the Shelby but like the exhaust notes and tech of the DH. Like the handling of the DH and that it’s new but the Shelby only has 8500 KM’s on it.

In May of this year, I bought a 2017 GT350 with 20,299 miles, very well kept, new tires (Michelin Pilot SS), GT350R front end, GT500 spoiler, oil catch cans installed, 12 quarts of Red Line 5w50, 3 oil filters, Red Line hood struts installed, an extra cabin filter, and an extra indoor car cover for $48, 500.

80k for 440whp. How sad I got my hellcat back in 2020 for 60k. I've put 20k in mods, and im making 980 whp. They should have at least included a whipple at that price. I guess as long as you're happy, that's all that matters. Im more of a power for the dollar kind of guy.

Power isn’t everything imo, but glad you enjoy your hellcat. That being said, a hellcat redeye is the slowest 800hp car I’ve driven, cause it just can’t put the power down lol. Needs way more tire

@EddieX mine has no such issues it's not a redeye, just a regular hellcat, but it has no trouble putting the power down. And i think you misunderstood me when I say 980 whp that's at the wheels. I'm making 1100 crank hp. More than a demon170 at half the cost no matter how you slice it that's impressive. With plenty of room to get more power. I don't leave my cars stock. I build them, and stock is always boring to me every since I got into a 2600 whp viper. So your experience is with a stock redeye. My hellcat is built with proper 15-inch wheels and 315s in mickey Thompson drag radials, a completely different car from the stock redeye you experienced.

The DH is a fast track car, see if your hellcat can take a turn at speed. I'm certain a hellcat has zero chance of keeping up with a DH on track or a back road.

@Ripped2Shred i hear that a lot. i feel like most of the people who say that don't realize the hellcat handles better than you think for its size. I doubt you have driven anything like my built hellcat. it's a far superior experience from stock. And when you're going straight and you feel the power pull you hard into your seat, you won't care how well it handles the sheer power alone is such an adrenaline rush. That being said, I'm aware it doesn't handle as well as a dark horse but it doesn't need to as the only place I race my hellcat is at the drag strip so fortunately for me there are no turns. And in a straight line, even if the dark horse has a whipple, it doesn't stand a chance until tuning becomes available. And even then, you're going to have to pour more money into it. I'd say another 20k, the point being my car makes incredible power for a total of 80k. Good luck building any dark horse that cheap that can beat it.

For that price the level of quality is crap. All hard plastic inside and even the trunk carpet doesnt stay in place. Its a joke for a special edition car. Its not the 90s. Im considering the cle 53 amg over this. Its in another universe as far as materials and build quality and tech for around the same price and it has a 3.0 v6 450 hp 4wd that u can change how u want and has the same performance if not better than this with half the fuel consumption….
