Just occurred to me, after several years of practicing with your tutorials, I have not said 'thank you' for helping me become a better Latin hand drum percussionist. Muchisimo gracias from Cabrillo music student in Santa Cruz.

Excellent, Edgardo! I was receiving the signal from your right elbow down here in Cornwall, Planet Earth and will be practicing 'd'reckly' (as we say down here - means right away without any kind of rush). One Love

Saludos!

Hi, did you ever create a video about replacing heads, tuning a conga to a middle C - tips and tricks, etc? Appreciate your experience. Cheers
@Eddysuconga3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nathaniel, That is a good idea. I will think about that, as you are not the first one that asked me. There are a few videos on the subject of replacing a Conga head, either with a pre mounted skin or starting from scratch... Also videos of maintenance and tuning... If I do such a video, it will be presented from my own angle and perspective, based in my experience, and not from the approach of an "expert"... To be more clear: Some conga drummers are great instrument repair experts, and maintenance experts etc. I personally take care of my instruments really well and I have changed several skins in my life, but in general lately I buy them from sources that I trust and I buy them pre-mounted... But a quick video covering, tuning, maintenance and caring for your Congas would be a good one to add for sure. Thanks for your comment and please subscribe to the channel. Gracias! Thank you!

Saludos desde Atenas- Grecia ! In the "chop" the last (right) slap is the 1 (where it starts all over again the tumbao) ??
@Eddysuconga4 жыл бұрын
ShoNuffGroove Yes, that is correct. The chop starts on one with a right hand double open, and ends with a slap on the right hand on one. Got good memories of Athens, I played with Cuban pianist Omar Sosa for a week at the Half Note club (all I remember is that it was right across a cementery). Also played at Thessaloniki, and had some of the best grilled lamb over there. Los griegos son buena gente!

@@Eddysuconga I was there...(one of those nights) in Half Note Club. I remember you playing the congas & singing a little (without the beard) and I think you played the chekere also....!!
