Where are these made?
@WeighMyRack2 жыл бұрын
I believe they are made in China. But Edelrid also used to have a number of their carabiners made by Climbing Technology in Italy, so it's possible with a more complex design they are have CT make these.

If belaying with the GriGri, which side of the Triple FG goes to the harness? I've gotten mix answers. Is the spring bar end?
@007boxlunch5 жыл бұрын
Xerxes S.Z. YANG logically with a gri gri you would have the soft aluminum side on the belay loop and the hard steel side through the metal hole of the gri gri. I have seen many aluminum carabineers have a gouge worn through from a gri gri over time. The more pointed steel end of the straight one would probably be best for the gri gri specifically otherwise the anti crossload gate on the others would keep it oriented just fine I'd assume

Thats not what he was asking. He is asking if you use the spring lever on the grigri or on the belay loop. I use mine on the grigri.

You can find your answer in the manual of the carabiner itself. For the Grigri, the Grigri goes into the small part of the biner (where the capture bar is). With an ATC, the ATC goes into the wider part of the biner.

@@AndreaCalligarisClimbing It is not possible to get a GriGri to rotate past the steel section on the Bulletproof screw ( corner opposite the gate where the steel insert ends. I can't imagine any difference with a Twist lock

@@snugglepuss2000 Really? I know for sure it's possible with CT's Concept SGL HC and BD's GridLock. I thought it was the same with any other similar carabiner. GridLock's manual even recommends that setup.
