I was doing theater at the time in LA - Evita, I think - and all the chatter, ALL of the chatter, - was about this new young gal who was absolutely killing it every night in Riverside. I never got to see the show because I was in my own show, BUT it was only a few years later I saw her name in the cast of a Broadway show Brooklyn, as the lead.

No one will ever hit a note that badly again and make it sound so good. I actually liked it. This song does not need a beautiful beautiful voice to sing it. In the movie, Yvonne Elliman sang it (my favorite). Yvonne didn't have the best voice, but her, "I'd back away," has never been matched. It's the passion that comes out of it. To me anyways. Espinosa did pretty well.
