The song is not about a relationship. The song describes the state of Israel after the events of October 7th. The sentence that says in the comments "we will dance again" is aimed at the murdered people at the Nova festival. Now that you understand the meaning of the song listen to it again and realize how powerful it is.

A tree in Judaism is a symbol of life. In the video it is turned upside down and this symbolizes those who look at us from Heaven... Two worlds, like a mirror image. The hurricane on October 7 struck and uprooted what was loved and dear, forever dividing people into two worlds, and now they will not meet again. No matter how many times I listen to this song, I cry. There is so much incredibly strong pain in the song, which is difficult to express in words and which bursts into the heart like a hurricane and tears at the soul. Thank you for the fact that this song will be performed at Eurovision.

First time I saw someone post about the Tree of Life in the song. Other biblical references are in the song as well. One of her blouses had a bullet hole. The paper swirling round reminded me of the terrorists on motorcycles . . . . Also: the bond between the men & the women in the dancing. The men wanted to protect the women & were not able to . . . . It is abstract enough to remove us from some of the horrors, while giving strength & beauty & healing. It made me cry. The grief which heals.
@noadekel8 ай бұрын
@@brynawaldman5790 let me add something. it's an olive tree. it's a protected tree here in Israel and it's not allowed to be cut and taken out. the fact that this tree is so violently cut out from the ground cause it's such a rooted and meaningful tree for us is very upsetting to witness. the cut tree with all it's symbolism is what we experienced on October 7th. also the olive tree symbolize peace. the fact that peace in hanging on a string shows the danger and fragile place Israel and the jews are at and the hope for peace is slowly dying.
@brynawaldman57907 ай бұрын
@@noadekelThanks for your comment. Atheist Jews in Israel would see an olive tree torn out by the roots & hanging by a thread, & religious people would see the Tree of Life, & one can see both; the fragile reality here & the dangers, & a trust for teachings in Torah. I picked out a lot of references to Jewish mysticism in the song. In the promotion video before the contest started I saw the landscape was like the land around the Nova Music Festival. In the onstage performance I see the terror tunnels under Gaza in the circular structure they used onstage.

Hi and greetings from Israel. Thank you for your honest and heartfelt reaction for our entry for this year's entry to Eurovision, which will be held in May in Sweden. The last bit was in Hebrew. This song is ofcourse about the October 7th massacre that the ter*or organization "hamas" launched on israel, rap*ng, behea*ing, burn*ng alive, mutil*ting and murd*ring over 1,300 babies, children, women men and elderly - IN ONE DAY, and this song focused especially on the (over) 250 young ppl who were partying and raving at the NOVA peace and love DANCE FESTIVAL whom were also massacred by Hamas - then they (Hamas) went and kidnapped over 240 innocent ppl from their homes - over 130 of them ARE STILL BEING KEPT CAPTIVE (for over 6 months now!!!) in hamas ter*or tunnels in gaza, amongst them is a 1 y/o baby who "celebrated" his 1st b-day in captivity (and also his 4.5 y/o brother and their Mom) - over 30 of them were recently announced dead by hamas (even though they were very much alive when they were kidnapped!), and some of them were SOLD BY HAMAS to even more extreme rer*or groups, and their whereabouts is unknown. This song is with REVISED LYRICS, after the original song - which was titled "October rain", was considered by the EBU (European Broadcasting Union - the orgenizers of the Eurovision) for being too political, and they banned the song, thus forcing Israel to change the lyrics, if they (meaning we, I'm from Israel) want to participate in the upcoming Eurovision song contest, in May, in Sweden. Even though the lyrics were "softened", one can still tell what the song is about. These are the Original lyrics: Writers of the history Stand with me Look into my eyes and see People go away but never say goodbye Someone stole the moon tonight Took my light Everything is black and white Who’s the fool who told you Boys don’t cry? Hours and hours and flowers Life is no game for the cowards Why does time go wild? Every day I’m loosing my mind Holding on in this mysterious ride Dancing in the storm We got nothing to hide Take me home And leave the world behind Baby promise me that never again I’m still wet from this october rain October Rain Living in a fantasy Ecstasy Everything’s meant to be We shall pass but love will never die Hours and hours and flowers Life is no game for the cowards Why does time go wild? Every day I’m loosing my mind Holding on in this mysterious ride Dancing in the storm We got nothing to hide Take me home And leave the world behind promise me that never again I’m still wet from this october rain October Rain October Rain לא נשאר אוויר לנשום אין מקום אין אותי מיום ליום כולם ילדים טובים אחד אחד Tanslation of the Hebrew part: There’s no air left to breathe There’s no space left There's no me, day by day They were all good kids, each and everyone of them *** IN MEMORY OF ALL THE INNOCENT PPL WHO WERE MASSACRED BY HAMAS ON OCTOBER 7TH - AND PRAYERS FOR THE SAFE RETURN OF THE 130+ KIDNAPPED ISRAELIES, WHOM ARE STILL IN CAPTIVITY BY HAMAS IN GAZA ***

The song came to present what happened on the seventh of October. The dancers in the video introduce the people who came to spread light and love. It shows the murdered people who danced at the Nova festival in Israel. For us the date was really a hurricane She says there in one of the sentences, promise me you'll hold me again. Here she mentions the abductees from their point of view and their thoughts. The upside down tree shows the feeling of the people in Israel. We feel that our roots have been uprooted and our world has been completely turned upside down since October 7th.In addition to this, the upside-down tree shows the hundreds of families who somehow managed to escape from the terrible range and were displaced from their homes when Hamas entered the settlements where they lived and destroyed everything. Thank you for your support and kind words. Peace and love from Israel

"Everyone knows what happened that morning. The sun rose and for many people it was the last light they saw in their lives. I knew that in the end the music video should end with the sun rising. With the light that defeats the darkness. That the music video should be as dark as possible, but in the end the sun will shine and illuminate everything. We wanted to end with optimism" "Throughout the clip, we planted a tension between light and darkness. In one of the scenes in the clip, the light actually tries to penetrate through the slits, we hung a flashlight on a dolly and moved the light. I wanted there to be a struggle. For the light to try to enter and not succeed - until at the end the sun rises. In Nova there are people for whom, unfortunately, it was the light The last they saw, but some people took advantage. This moment is dedicated to them." "There is an image in Kabbalah, which has accompanied me for years, ever since I was a student, that the Jewish person is upside down. His roots are planted in the sky, not in the ground." A tree in Judaism is a symbol of life. In the video it is turned upside down and this symbolizes those who look at us from Heaven. "What does it matter in the end what I meant? This clip invites discussion, invites people to feel - like any work of art" "Even though her default is something big, a diva, a pop star, she connected to the concept from the first moment. To minimalism. There was an understanding that something different was needed, to convey the truth and not to go for something trendy. I asked Aden to think that she is entering a museum and seeing a piece that pulsates her, which is the feeling that we We want to create. It's love and she was with us from the first moment, it's not obvious." That's what the director of the music video said Regarding the circle of dancers wearing white, some will say that at the beginning of the song, the dancers in the clip wear white clothes, as a reference to the celebrations of the Jewish holiday Simchat Torah in white on the kibbutz lawns, during which the terrorist attack on Israel broke out, and at the end of the clip they changed to black clothes that symbolize the grief and pain we went through - transition from holiday to war. The clip represents the dancers at the Nova peace festival and the citizens in the kibbutzim in southern Israel. Thank you so so much for your support! love from Israel

The language at the end is Hebrew and Israel is , like Cyprus, a member of the European Broadcasting Union which is the criterion for participation aside from the one exception, Australia which is allowed to participate also because they love the contest so much and asked nicely. The song can be interpreted, as all music can, by the listener and if it strikes a chord with you you fill it with your own meanings. Obviously, from the point of view of the writers it was meant to reflect the storm of emotions released by the mass slaughter of of over 1000 Israeli citizens on the morning of Oct 7th and the continued hostage situation but it is vague enough to be open to many other interpretations too. Glad you enjoyed it .

אני צופה בסרטון מההתחלה עד הסוף ומחכה לראות באיזה שלב יפול לו האסימון על מה מדובר ואם הוא יתקל בתגובה באינטרנט שתסביר לו על מה מדובר, פשוט מדהים.
