A good guide as always. Clean and straightforwards. But some minor details you missed out: 1.) Throughout the fight, Leviathan will be auto-attacking not just the Main Tank, but also the person who is 2nd on aggro. These hurt so make sure whoever is Off Tanking has 2nd aggro. 2.) For the Maelstrom dives, the first dive will always come from the North and the second dive from the West or East. During the second Maelstrom, the 3rd dive will come from the South and will be on the side of the platform the first dive cuts through. So to make it easy to dodge, find the first safe corner of the platform and after the first dive happens, move over to that side of the platform to dodge the 3rd one. 3.) During Tsunami 2, you can have just 1 tank soak both cones with cooldowns. For the stacks, you would want both healers + the other tank in one stack, and all the dps on the other. The 2 people with the Cone debuffs has to stand slightly in front of everyone while still being in the stack. This is so that they don't accidentally clip and kill other people in that stack with it. The tank taking the Cone attack just stands right in front of the boss as far as they can go. 4.) In Black Smokers, the conal tank busters will target the 2 players closest to the boss. So melee dps would have to stand at either max melee range while the tanks stand closer, or just position yourselves so that the tanks are the 2 closest people to the boss. 5.) Tethers in Black Smokers will target the 2 furthest players. So make sure whoever is baiting those stand far away. The puddles will also knockback anyone near them when they spawn, so the people dropping those puddles have to be careful and not drop them directly on anyone else, and everyone else just give them some space until you see the puddles appear. 6.) Also after the Enrage cast, there is a 4-5 sec animation before it hits the party, so you would still have some time to squeeze a kill.

Quick note on a small mistake in the video. In Tsunami 2 the icon this vid puts up are a bit wrong for tanks. "Splashing Waters" debuff actually looks a SMALL circle and the "Scouring Tsunami" debuff is the large circle icon she used for both of the debuffs in this video.

As someone who is now attempting this, I'm surprised no one has mentioned that as a range DPS/healer, during the currents after we split into 4 for the AOE, the two farthest party members stay on the back of the platform and the currents direction is the same as the first one. So if we dodged the right side first, we gotta dodge the right side the second time. Or vice versa. Here I am doing the opposite when I should have been dodging on the same side.

@@The-GCNI'm sure they had plenty of time to kill it even after the cast completed. The animation for his enrage takes a while to hit even after the cast is complete. My team killed it as Levi was finishing his animation. In my opinion though...e2s is harder then e3s.

Hey MTQ, I appreciate your guides and your work but there is one crucial thing you kind of left out that is very important. Apparently Savage Leviathan is similar to Shinryu Ex in the sense that both tanks have to maintain aggro or Leviathan will auto attack the MT and a murder a random player that isn't a tank. So the OT has to maintain 2nd on Leviathan's enmity list.

@@LilithSoul4 not really. There's only been a handful of fights that require the off tank to maintain 2nd aggro at all times like Lakshmi EX for Path of Light and Shinryu Ex due to his auto attacks. But the reason why this is such an issue is due to tank stance changes. There hasn't been any reason for both tanks to be in tank stance until this point in the expansion, and from what I've seen; depending on openers, rotation and overall gear ilevel both tanks will be fighting for aggro at the start of a fight. And since a double hitting Tank Buster is the 2nd thing Leviathan does here it makes it a bit more of a mess than necessary.

@@lin_hu_worshiper If you're fighting with your cotank for aggro, a provoke fixes that problem. Offtank should always be 2nd on the enmity list regardless of encounter, it makes swaps less of a headache.

@@LilithSoul4 voking that early isn't really doing anything, since i think the boost is percentage based (correct me when i'm wrong) and both tanks are pretty much still bursting from their opener in that time (only cotank i haven't had aggro-issues with so far was a WAR, but that's because they burst the hardest to keep dat aggro), and finding the right place to voke and ensure my aggro is also kind-of meh (tried when he casts the raidwide, didn't work consistent enough, and trying to time it abit later seems too inconsistent since I tend to miss the buster in that case) I'm glad I usually tank with the same tank every time, and he just shirks me so i can eat the first buster with hallowed. But we are (even with provoke) pretty much neck on neck with aggro during that phase (depending on crits). When my partner forgot to shirk once, he took aggro just before the buster, just to loose it right in the next moment again, making me take the 2nd hit (while he popped bolide). But sadly there are times when he's not there. Early aggro management with random tanks is kinda meh, and I'm glad when the other one volunteers to solo 2 busters (by that i mean non-DRK since their invuln is kind of meh imho), since dropping a fair bit of aggro is alot easier than getting a nice comfy lead of it (at that time in the fight atleast). Most tanks i encountered also don't properly use tools like shirk and just drop tankstance after they soaked the first buster to make me naturally get aggro, then forget it to turn back on after a wipe and don't realise it until after rip current, using their invuln out of habit while i have to pop mine since they don't voke at that time (because autopilot is a bitch), making us waste 2 invulns for the first buster, while a DD ate several autos during that time aswell. Or they use provoke a fair amount of time before the buster they solo comes up while they are out of range of the shirk because quake deleted the middle platform (and I'm glad at those moments that i have ACT-triggers for provoke to react on time since seeing that plain animation can be hard when you're running out of a temp current) or maybe I'm just really really unlucky when it comes to random tanks in EU for e3s practice and it's all in my head and I'm exaggerating because I'm too spoiled with my usual cotank

I loathe that mechanic so much, it can get locked in an iron maiden of rusty nails and broken glass at the bottom of a volcanic pit in the depths of hell, while being frozen, crushed, drowned, brutally eviscerated, and then forced to take all the stack markers at once solo as a level 1 with no gear with the black hole debuff as well as incurable and all the hello world debuffs, and all of grand cross omega at once. Please note that for Black Smokers, you left out a crucial detail for dps to not get hit by puddles upon their drop before going in to soak them as they will knock you off stage when clipped. It caused our party to wipe quite a number of times in confusion, thank you.

Tsunami 2 looks complicated but in practice it's a lot like certain other fights that have complex debuff phases: there's a bunch of objectives split across the whole team, with each party member doing only a few things. You just have to study what your role specifically will be doing and then practice it until it feels natural.

Three people per stack minimum, gotta be topped off + shielded for it too, depending on people's IL. One side has both healers and one tank, the other has all four dps, while a single tank can take both cones with an immunity

"Unless he is destroyed first." I'm not big on pronoun PC stuff, but isn't Leviathan female? Or was that just FF15? I'm trying to remember. A female Leviathan as sort of the counter to the male Bahamut was just wonderfully symmetric/matching bookends to me, so I've always liked that idea. Though the two being opposed I guess really was only true in the FF Ultimate anime, wasn't it? The one with the summoner gun/bullets (which, other than Levi and Bahm being opposed, is all I really remember about it...)
