Lianne Groenendijk How you practise this?
@liannegroenendijk20965 жыл бұрын
Emily Shore Well, I can say after these 2 months I can do its easily. I started with ofc one strum per chord. And after that I did 2 strums per chord. And after that 4 strums per chord. After you can do 4, you can try to do Down, Down, Down, Down, Up. That’s how I started. And start with a song you can dream the lyrics off. Just a song you know very well. I practiced for 3 weeks and I couldn’t do it. And in just 1 hour I randomly could do it! So don’t give up. And look for the lyrics and chords on internet, that you know exactly when the chord changes, that helps a lot. You can just stare at the lyrics and you can see exactly where the chord changes. (Btw the song I did was Radioactive from Imagine Dragons)

Wow watching this is weird for me. I started playing ukulele when I was 3 because my dad played ukulele and guitar professionally (he was a music teacher but then he quit to play with his band full time) he taught me to have perfect pitch and to play the ukulele from very young so it’s always just been a thing I can do. I’ve always been able to sing and play whatever chord I want with ease, I can also do fingerpicking surprisingly easily. It takes me about an hour or two of just solid playing to learn a new song if it’s really complex. I’m extremely grateful of my father teaching me uke straight away. Being able to play an instrument is an amazing blessing, whether you can just play one chord or eighty. My dad is currently on tour in the Americas with his jazz band playing with some of the best musicians still alive, while I’m stuck at home doing my GCSEs 🙄 But I did get to go with him on his tour of Europe and I got to play with people I’ve only since found out are actually legends in the jazz world. It’s amazing to see your progress. You should definitely keep it up, music is the closest thing to magic there is. You are already an awesome player, and to get there in just a year is amazing. Keep up the great progress! ❤️
@ericlemon44766 жыл бұрын
Also, if you want to start doing fingerpicking, and you haven’t already, I recommend you start with something really easy like ‘Happy birthday’ but then straight after you get the hang of it and you are fine with reading TABs go to do a more intermediate song like ‘Here comes the sun’ If you jump straight into it you’ll get a way better understanding much faster I think. That and ‘Here comes the sun’ is just a really fun song to play..

I’ve been doing uke for about a year and a half now. I am soon switching to guitar. I LOVE ukulele, and will still ALWAYS play and practice it, you can never learn too much! I know HEAPS of chords, I can sing and play with any strumming pattern, and can now write my own songs and add my own chords, and record it. It’s been AMAZING, and I learnt so fast thanks to my ukulele teacher, and my school. Never give up if it gets tricky, that’s good! When your brain is struggling, it will help get better faster than if you played something you already knew. It’s SO FUN, and uke will always hold a special place in my heart🥺❤️

Lilxpotadoe good question! First learn these three chords:C, A minor, F, and for a bit of a challenge-G. The first song I learnt was Riptide, which it funny because it is kinda hard for beginners. The first song I think you should ,learn is... I can’t think of anything! A good thing to do is to choose your own song then look up ‘*your chosen song* ukulele chords’, then press the link to ukulele tab. It really cool because it shows the lyrics and the chords in one. If you don’t know the chords used in your song, look them up on KZbin. Hope this helped!

@@wolfiebear888 Notice at 1:49 when Elise plays the strings, the second and third string are not producing a proper sound (almost like a thud). This is either because you're not pressing hard enough, or because your other fingers are accidentally touching the string. I hope this makes sense!

Now It's almost 1 year lol I mean 1 month more and it's going to be 1 year and I am happy to say that I've already showcased my uke skills in our school. Great Job ALOHA! I started about 2 years ago and I was determined to really know the chords and the strumming styles mostly from the KZbin channel. Since I live in Hawaii, my hubby was a USN Vet. and decided to stay here after he retired. So, I was so excited to learn how to play the UK with little help from my Hula Teacher, Nalani. I have always dreamed of learning how to play the Ukulele confidently but I never made the time nor the money for the lesson ($30/ 30min) before, until one day, I told my husband that I want to learn how. My amazing husband bought me a Kala Ukulele, a really sleek and sexy style around $350. He knew that I really want to learn how to play with confidence. There are so many songs that are really easy from 3-5 chords. I usually watch Cynthia Lin's channel on KZbin. She is very good at teaching the UK esp. if you are a beginner like I used to be. The main thing is that you are determined to learn and practice, practice, practice. It's a great hobby, especially during this pandemic. I am so proud of myself that I can now dance the Hula and play the Ukulele. Anybody can do it too. A hobby that will always be with me when we decide to move to the mainland. I might even teach, for free, how to dance the Hula and play the Ukelele...Happy Uku-ing.

It's okay I think everyone can if you WANT and HAVE COURAGE to do it. ( #nothingisimpossible ) Actually the note (music 🎼🎵🎶) it doesn't matter if you can read or not cus for ukulele it's all different, but it's okay (you still can learn it) + there's a lot of ukulele tutorial that has the picture of the chord so if you keep practicing I know you will automatically can read music and can memorize all the chords, strum, etc. Idk if you understand cus my vocab is not great wkwkwk, working on it Well...I just want to tell a story (short one) that I liked ukulele so much and watch all the tutorials it's super mesmerizing but then I've never have strings instruments and I can't even play guitar (my hands🤚🔥🔥,lol) but I still watch the ukulele tutorials anyway. I didn't even ask my parents to give me a ukulele, but because they know that I love ukulele on my birthday they gave me one and it's a super lovely ukulele and I'm freaking excited so I started to play the ukulele. Since I have watch so many tutorials and have memorized thorough the bone , when I tried to play it I automatically can play a song🤓I was surprise but yeah I keep on doing it till now.
