Karen, I am with you! You have been doing this a VERY long time (farlonger than I have @ 6 yrs.) and your knowledge and that of your assessors officer gives you the needed wisdom and knowledge to guide your business. I don't know how you do it girl! I would have gotten tired of the negativity every time a new one comes on who doesn't have the same background as you do. You are a very very nice, caring person with creativity and the talent to go with your great personality and I for one LOVE watching your videos!!!!!!!!!! 💕👍💕

I see you packing all this soap Karen and I went to your sight to buy a bar (something I been wanting to do for a long time) But I saw the postage on one bar and I just can't pay the price when it's like 4 times more :-(. I envy everyone internationally to be able to buy your wonderful soaps. Your just amazing Karen. I love your video's and watch some of them over and over. Have a great day!

Thank you for discussing the ins and outs of assessments and food imitation…so glad you have a sensible TS officer. It’s good to see there are some sensible TS officers…the whole safety assessment process seems a money making business for the assessors. Safety is important of course, but there’s so much variation between the pre 2013 assessments and current ones that it must make life so challenging for trading standards officers! 💕

I love your packaging. So high end! I wouldn't be able to do business in the UK with the foody looking soaps I make 😅. I like them as realistic a possible. My rebellion wouldn't let me stop. 😬I am inspired by other things. It's a good thing I have other hobbies like making realistic pet houses or designing wedding decor and florals. I am like you. I can get bored with seeing the same designs so I have to switch it up. I love your nails! I cheat because I don't have time to make my nails pretty so I buy Color street nail polish. You just press it on and go. I don't have to worry about getting liquid nail polish in all the wrong places 😅. I am looking forward to your next video. You really make my day😊. I love the Lush comment your customer made. Your products are made with love. And in my personal opinion. Homemade products are just better quality without all the extra garbage manufacturers put in their products to mass produce. Each homemade product is unique. No 2 will ever be exact so customers feel special. ❤️

Hi Karen, the Ballotin was invented by the wife of the guy who invented pralines in Brussels. The one you are using is a Leonidas chocolate box, a popular praline brand. Your products and packaging look beautiful, Karen, seeing it all together makes it extra beautiful ! Wow, what a superliscious compliment about your bath bombs, I'm really happy for you, knowing how you love Lush and how they have been an inspiration, haha! I would like talking about assessments because I fully agree, it doesn't make sense, everything was safe before 2013 (all ingredients + recipe had to be safe + you had to be traceable) so here you can see already that any changes they made weren't done with consumers' welfare in mind because this was already fully taken care of before 2013. When I said something like this on another YT channel someone got mad and blamed me for having an agenda! I also said we should make a petition together. A concrete example of a ridiculous result of the changes they made is for instance: you have made a blue-white soap with fragrance A, and (had to pay extra for an extra assessment for) a green-white soap with fragrance B. Now please explain to me why it would be unsafe to sell 1) a blue-green soap, or 1b) soaps with one of the colors alone, and 2) a blue-white soap with fragrance B - while the colors and the fragrances are already officially proven to be safe. This isn't reasonable and doesn't make any sense. I read somewhere that the industry has lobbied in Brussels, so maybe this explains enough. This was my rant, thanks for letting me share :)

Hi Karen Could you let me know where to get the best wax and fragrance oils from ? Love watching your videos I’ve learnt so much xxx
@EdensSecret13 жыл бұрын
Hi |Elizabeth, I get my wax from anywhere I can that has some stock I use "Eco Soya Melt" and I've bought it from Supplies for candles, Cosy Owl, Randalls Candles, Craftovator, Craftastik to name a few. Fragrance Oils I buy from many different companies (all have good and not so good fragrances) Gracefruit, Oasis Oils, Blossom Oils, Scent Perfique, Sell The Smells, Craftastik, Craftovator, Supplies for Candles, The Soap Kitchen..... hope this helps. I usually put whichever fragrance I'm using in the description box of each video I do, so if you click to read the description, you'll see exactly where I got everything from that video.

Do you use epsom salt in your bath bombs? I do, but saw another Soaper say epsom salt draws moisture to your bombs. What are your thoughts on this?
@itsokaytobeclownpilled59373 жыл бұрын
It depends on the humidity where you live. If your recipe is working for you, keep doing it.

I am so glad in the US, we don't have a lot of rules on how soap and bath products can look like and smell like! Although I do think it would be better if we had someone that came around and checked manufacturing practices, for sanitation requirements. That way we know that they are manufactured in a sanitary manner. We have some labeling riles we must flow, but other than that, we have a real simple situation compared to most other countries! I feel that places like the UK, can make it very difficult when it comes to scent and looks of products. Although, I know large companies, like Lush and many candle companies break these rules consistently! So I say have at it, if large companies can profit this way, small home based companies should be able to do the same! JUST MY OPINION! Please Karen, do a nail video. I'm nail challenged, lol! Soap is bacteriostatic. We dont need government micromanaging us.

As far as Lush is concerned, it went to court and they demonstrated that customers had a reasonable expectation that when they went into their store, they only sold cosmetics. That doesnt apply to smaller sellers and yes it would come down to TS and their interpretations but thats why so many TS officers have cracked down on smaller sellers selling wax bars, wax gummy bears, soap lollies, cakes etc. Many sellers have been told to withdraw wax bars completely and others have been told to cease selling anything wax that looks like chocolate - its not the choking hazard or just for children its for anyone (inc vulnerable adults) who could mistake something for food.
