Pep can’t play mcatee but can force Rico Lewis to play every single game WHO IS TWO YEARS YOUNGER. Why is Rico not to young pep?? Please make it make sense

Rico doesn't take as many risks as McAtee. Rico is better for the team because of his defensive output and ball retention. McAtee is a creative player that HAS to take more risks as a product of his game and with the amount of injuries to defenders and lack of consistency in defensive output from the team, it's too much of a risk

@ Please, Rico’s ball retention is not that high and if that was the case for his defensive output it makes no sense considering his is inverting into midfield or CAM when we have the ball and getting caught in transitions. He is not as good going forward as mcatee yet is trust enough to do that job. If that was the case playing Rico for ball retention and defense you play Lewis AND mcatee one to play defensive and one to attack but no pep forces Rico into positions that he is no good at and plays awful Bernardo Silva in mcatee position once again like everything else over complicating things.

@@Hairyman13 "Not that high" i didn't say he was amazing, it's just better than McAtee. As for getting caught out of position, that's a team issue more than a Rico issue so I'm not sure you can knock him for that when McAtee could just as easily look weak in this current City side. Rico may not be Phillip Lahm but he does more for the team like a Bernardo Silva than the creative types like McAtee because they are looking for key passes all the time when we need players who look for that pass at the RIGHT time which is really difficult to do

@@lutho1230 lol his positioning is not a team issue it is a tactical and personal issue. Haaland in his last 3-5 games has 3 shots at goal and 1 of them is a penalty and you want less creative players on the pitch? Mcatee isn’t good enough now because he looks to create? Wow boring pep ball has really taken a toll on you. Maybe if we had defenders that defend and attackers that attack and not defenders that attack and attackers that hold the ball up and play for possession we could be getting better results then we are right now but nope it has to be overcomplicated from “the best manager ever” 🙄
