35:44 don’t you have to expand the brackets of the denominator? Or will you gain the mark nonetheless?
@girnogiovana65776 ай бұрын
you can leave it as that or expand you will get the mark anyway
@Ducky5981Ай бұрын
I think since it's the simplest form, expanding it would make it less simplified. So by leaving it in its factorised form it is already in its simplest form

I wrote that Maisie needed 9.3 kg of grass seeds for 140m² and since she has 5 boxes that was 10kg which is 0.7 excess from what she needs so she has enough. Would the mark scheme still say that is correct?

how comes you switch the numbers around on question 21
@Wngman-uz8qt2 жыл бұрын
He showed an example why by subbing in the numbers. If you need 4 lots of C to equal 3 lots of D then there has to be more in each ´bit' of D

for the last question question 21 what is the topic called someone PLEASE tell me I was literally sitting there with no clue what to do and if anyone knows the answer to this [ what would have happened if you used the normal method to work out area of a triangle in q 19 would it just not be the correct answer?

Ratios using algebra
@zenmarais8425 Жыл бұрын
This comment is old, however, for any future persons I will outline the relevant topics that worked for me. 1. Harder quadratics. 2. Ratios and harder ratio questions. 3. Algebraic ratios. 3. Gradients, although don't mix up the fact that (change in y)/(change in x) DISTINCTLY applies to STRAIGHT lines. Now let's go through a worded problem: Paul is a fruit vendor. Paul has found that for every 5 apples he sells, he sells 2 bananas. How many bananas has Paul sold if he sells 35 apples? 1. The ratio of apples to bananas is 5 : 2. So apples/bananas can be represented as 5/2. (a) Apples = 5/2 * bananas. So if there are 2 bananas, 2 * 5/2 = 5. (b) So dividing Apples by 5/2 will give us bananas, which i the same as multiplying by the reciprocal, Apples * 2/5 = bananas. 2. Carrrying on from apples/bananas = 5/2. We know that Paul has sold 35 apples. So we can rewrite that equation as 35/b = 5/2. 3. Then we can cross multiply. So 35 * 2 = 5 * bananas. 4. 70 = 5b. 5. Solving for b, 70/5 = 14. So when Paul has sold 35 apples, he has sold 14 bananas. 35 : 14, which divided by the HCF as 7 gives us 5 : 2. After going through that, not that the ratio 5 : 2 means that 5/2 * bananas = apples. And 2/5 * apples = bananas. So if you think of the apples as x, and the banans as y. 2x = 5y, x = 5/2. As the ratio of apples to bananas is 5/2. I hope this helps.

In question 19 can you use (n-2)x180 in both and then take away the small one from the big one ? Or that will not work
@thrilite39812 жыл бұрын
that works as well you can doo that so you get (6-2)x180 which is 720 which is the sum of interior angles, then you divide by 6 to get 120 so each side is 120, then you divide that by two to get 60 to find out a triangle of that like he did
