On Q11 (33:22) How would you know to double the price then times it by 4?
@ibibam12374 жыл бұрын
You're trying to find a percentage, in order to do that, you have to make the fraction out of 100. For example, 1/1.25 is the same as 1/1.25 --(x2)--> 2/2.5 --(x2)--> 4/5 --(x2)--> 8/10 --(x10)--> 80/100. Hence, you get 80%, which is what the question asked for instead of 1/1.25. But equally, they're the same value.

On Q4 (8:20) I don't understand why you multiply 5 on both sides, because to get 1 I divided on both sides instead and then I timesed 3 on both sides to get 3 taps. And could you tell me what topic that question comes under please
@memetris69714 жыл бұрын
Very common mistake, This is called “Inverse proportion in context” And you should revise it, also think logically: How could it be faster for 1 tap to fill up a tank, obviously if you use 3 then it will be much faster, not slower

Call me wrong but the explanations are kind of jumpy.. Like for one of the questions I didn't understand and you just went "and then we multiply it by 2 and then we multiply by 4 and here is the answer" and I'm so confused wtf happened and why it happened

1:02:44 AB=-a+b why?
@kou.v Жыл бұрын
to get from A to B you go from A to O then O to B. since the direction of A to O is against the direction given, a becomes negative, -a. O to B is given. therefore AB = -a (A to O) + b (O to B)

On Q16 (46:38) What do you mean you have 2 things ending 56, how are you meant to know you have to take 10 away?
@kyleraghvani50704 жыл бұрын
Times it by 100 if u find it hard. Then do 100x-1x so 100xthe original-the original. So the new number is 99x. New number over 99, is the fraction. Then simply from there

44:53 Why do you x3 and times by x5 It don't make sense why to me
@belikebob85392 жыл бұрын
If you look at the ratios of the lengths, it is A:B and B:C, you want to get it into a ratio where it is A:B:C so that all three can be compared. To do this, he will make B the same value in each ratio. A:B is 2:5 and B:C is 3:4. To make B the same in both, you multiply both to get them to their lowest common multiple (LCM). The LCM of 5 and 3 is 15, hence why he multiplied 5 by 3 in the first ratio, and 3 by 5 in the second. This results in the final ratio being 6:15:20 which is A:B:C. I’ve tried to explain this as simply as possible so I hope it helps :) If you’re still stuck, let me know which part you don’t understand.

@emmiewright40953 жыл бұрын
1.25 is 25% added onto the original amount because it is 25% more.
@Gamper12 жыл бұрын
because adding 25% more is the same as finding 25% of the original, then adding it to the original, and since 25%=25/100=0.25 it is 0.25x+x which equals 1.25x
