I have seen many readings on this poem and this is by-far the best. Animation is great and the speaking is wonderful. Great job!!!

I have always loved this poem, ever since I read it when I was about 10-12. Funny how the words and Poe's artistic intent are captured here, but my assimilation of them has changed over the years. I used to think of this poem as beautifully morbid, but now I think of it as wildly romantic and desperately sorrowful. I'll come back in a few years and tell you what I think then. Until then, take care. :)

Hi FluffyCerberus. Thanks for the info on the voice. I found the voice over on-line years ago and have had no idea who it was or where it came from. People have asked who was doing the narration and now I can give them a real answer:) Thanks again!

I love the narration and the animation, it's gorgeous! I read it completely different, but it's always so interesting to hear how differently poems are read.

This is awesome, except it's Edgar Allan (with an a not e) Poe, and Annabel Lee with one l. I love this though! Awesome Job! :)

Of course, it had to be Basil Rathbone. He also did the best reading of Poe's the Raven.

I really admire what you have done with this poem, your animation is beautiful and really captures the feel of Annabel Lee. I was wondering if you would allow me to use the first part of your animation with only the title of "Annabel Lee" on it, as an introductory part of a video i am making for an english project. I really want something animated and creative for it, and i would of course you give credit for it.

Hi, I was wondering if you were okay with me using your title slide for my own video, like i said in a previous comment and posting it on youtube, giving you credit. Please get back to me when you can! :)
@TheStockwell11 жыл бұрын
Not a big deal, I suppose, but Poe's "Annabel" has only one "L" in it, not two. Since the render time for something like this is probably 12 years, I feel like a jerk mentioning it.
@bruthabri9911 жыл бұрын
Hi, I intentionally spelled it with 2 LL's as a Typography/design choice but I definitely didn't know I miss spelled "Edgar" ...whoops. Funny thing is you are only the second person to notice these typos and I posted this in 2008. This is why designers work with copy writers. Because we as designers STINK at spelling;) Thanks again for your thoughts.

"Annabel Lee" and "The Raven" were both written by Mathew Franklin Whittier, younger brother of poet John Greenleaf Whittier, and falsely claimed in a sort of 19th-century identity theft by Edgar Allan Poe. My paper, "Evidence that Edgar Allan Poe Stole 'The Raven' from Mathew Franklin Whittier" explains. It is downloadable at the following link. It can also be found by searching on the title on Academia.edu. www.ial.goldthread.com/MFW_The_Raven.pdf

Is there ONE reading of ANNABEL LEE that does NOT have all the shit-ass music/sound added to the background?!?!?. WHY add all this sonic CRAP to genius poetry?? Does Mr. Rathbone do a reading WITHOUT the background sound crap....almost makes Poe's brilliant writing; cheesy.
