I'm glad that he was widely acclaimed and appreciated when he passed away. His career had diminished in the 90s, but he was seen for how amazing he was after LotR.

Thank you for this amazing upload!! I am letting my 12 th grade class listen to this weekly!! We are about half way through and the kids absolutely love it!! I try to expose them to all the classic literature I can!! After this, we will be listening to some Edgar Allan Poe ❤

I listened to the book last year by a different narrator, I had to force myself to listen to it because the narrator was so awful! This story has now been redeemed because of Christopher Lee’s narration. Thank you for uploading this!

What a shame this an abridged version. It skips some of the most interesting chapters which detail the creatures early intellectual formation. I would definitely recommend no one skips those.
