Funny I said the same damn thing, before scrolling down and seeing your comment.. She has no friggin clue.. Terrible reaction for sure. The worst! Maybe she needs to go back to listening to RAP music, cause she has no clue what REAL music is.. LOL

This is a true masterpiece in every sense. Edgar, as you can see, was a seriously multi-talented instrumentalist. An early version of Prince in fact. What is even more impressive is that EW managed to manipulate the synth as he did, filled as it was with early 1970's technology. The oscillators were not stabilized as they would become with crystals and the like, so they could very easily go out of tune. But this was also before digital synthesizers, so the laws of nature were your limit, the digital hardware and software (so, you can never create more than the hardware and software writers created or conceived of). Astounding talent here on display, and it was performed pretty much as on the record, only with some very sweet embellishments of course.

Yeah it's so strange that every version of this song sounds totally different yet totally the same. At its core it is the same but it's surrounded by so many different I don't even know what to call it! But I love every version I've ever heard him play

An intresting information about this song is that till 1979 it was the most played song as an opening song on concerts all over the world. Helios from Greece .

About 40 years ago my then girlfriend and I were at a radio station event and she won an album. It was four studio versions of this tune, all great. So I would say it was practiced.

I bought this album back in high school in the seventies. Great stuff. Oh the guy in white is Rick Derringer who produced this record. He was also in the McCoy's in the sixties and had a hit with the song "Hang On Sloopy" and a solo career in the seventies. I saw him open for Heart in August 1977.

(relisten and recommend) Rick Derringer the guitarist had a very busy career also. In this, I love the dueling drums. Manipulating the sound system is an instrument too. Really watch these to watch you!

Edgar and his brother Johnny are both Albino's. Due to the lack of pigment in their skin (and eye sensitivity) they couldn't play outside as kids. So they channeled their energy into music!

The studio version is a little different but not much....studio version doesnt have the clown horn. I wish they'l would have left the clown horn out of this performance also, it makes it sound silly when he does that. Have liked the recird version since i was a little kid. If you get a chance listen to the record version with headphones on and colume up quite a bit, it'll blow your mind.

He and his brother Johnny winter are albino. Edgar was a frontrunner with the synthesizer. I really think the studio version was better.....You could hear the stereo, and separation. This was a bit muddled.
