Engineers biggest solo counters are actually soldier and demo. And biggest counter in general is uber. A good engineer won't be taken out by a single spy, a spy needs to wait for their team to do something to take out a nest. Demo can just shoot a few stickies and soldier can just equip the direct hit lol.

As a Soldier Main with 3.8k hours who is playing this game since 2009, Gun Spy is one of my favorite sub classes to play with in pubs. It's just so relaxing hitting 50 damage shots. The funniest thing of all is they don't know how much damage a revolver can actually do and underestimate a Spy when they see one. Until they get shot to death in 3-4 shots :D

Y'know I have this theory (a game theory if you will) that running a more memey version of a class along side the more traditional version can actually result in a really effective playstyle. Gunspy with normal spy, fat scout with heavy, and hell, hybrid knights in it of themselves. All of these combos kinda synergize together to cover each other's weaknesses (sustain damage gunspy/heavy paried with burst damage spy/fat scout).

The ultimate Spy strategy is camping the enemy spawn with the revolver, shooting somebody once in the back as they leave, and then immediately cloaking. After enough pester shots, their team will waste more and more time just spy checking in front of their own spawn instead of actually going to the objective. You will get absolutely no points and both teams will hate you on a personal level, but I swear to god this reduces the enemy team's effectiveness by like 20%

9:11 I knew I was gonna make it into the video somewhere, even if it was in the kill feed. I was Burdllomu. I ran into u twice. First time being only u when u were standing outside reds First spawn on Upward, shooting at anyone dumb enough not paying attention. The second time was with both u and raw on Swiftwater. Never thought I'd meet someone like u, let alone twice. That was fun. Also just as a dumb side note, I ended getting a backstab on u with my stupid Big Earner. As such, I've renamed my knife to "The Knife that Killed Octo!", with the description reading "Thank u Octo. I may ascend now."

I call this gimmick The Underpaid Employee. Use the space diver and airtight arsonist. For melee use the crossing guard and for your secondary use the jetpack. Rules: You can only attack with melee weapons. You cannot kill t-posing players and you must die when they touch you. The Gimmick: Run around and take weapons off the floor and bring them to resupply lockers. You must have the weapon out when you touch the locker to drop it.
