After some googling I have learned that these witch balls are sweet gum seed pods and Andy is right, those monkey ball are seed pods from a Maclura trees, they're very similar to what Nikkie was describing and to the sweet gum pods.

If you are a patron it's in their vault, the campaign is wild and it's so strange to see how the characters were first played back then! Finally was able to start Edge of Midnight after getting all caught up with OUAWL and SDR and this episode was the first little hint of Marius and Lethicas- dynamic, with her casting that stealth spell. I love it. I've been so invested in this series, it has my favorite friendships of any of the campaigns so far. They all just genuinely seem to care about eachother, even Briggsy, surprisingly. I love it :)
