As far as I’m concerned, it was the kiss of death for the Judgment Day too. For me, Edge was the reason to watch them, and frankly very little that the others have done since kicking him out has done much to sway that opinion. JD sucks, Finn sucks, Dom is meh, Rhea can be very good but has become a little overrated imo, and Priest has the most potential of all of them, but he’ll never fulfill it while he’s stuck with them.

I think the problem (and probably the main reason why they cut it short) is Edge can't reliably draw heat anymore as a heel, because he's too adored by the fans. It's kinda like trying to turn Jeff Hardy heel. Especially considering Edge had to retire for many years before making a miraculous return.
