Randy Orton really made Foley look good at Backlash 2004 as well. Randy barely got a good hit in the entire match....... Triple H also credited his status as main event staple in their Hell in a Cell Match.... He was made by Mick in that match too. They used Foley in a lot of these high risk, high reward matches to give credibility to their --at the time-- fringe main event guys. And when he puts them over, they leave in a blood bath... But looking like a million bucks when it's said and done.

Edge is that guy I hated as a kid but now as an adult with more knowledge on how wrestling works I truly appreciate everything he's done for the business. The whole Money In The Bank idea he had is genius. To the point that it's its own PPV now. His match with Foley definitely stole the show that year because I remember it like it was yesterday. And of course he's had a lot of memorable feud with the Dudley's and Team Xtreme, Matt Hardy over Lita, Cena, DX vs Rated RKO, even his angle where he was playing Vicky Guerrero was quality entertainment at the time. And of course let's not forget the live sex celebration. Edge was an entertainment machine. Still is too, love seeing him back. Any hardcore fans will tell you how much we missed him. There's only one Rated R Suuuuuperstar, Edge. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

I feel like it's forgotten because (at least in my opinion) it was the starting point of hating Cena and his mega push. That feel like a pin point moment where once Cena won, the turn and rejection towards him began to rise. Not to mention, that WM had a fair amount of big moments/matches before Cena/HHH. You had Rey Mysterio with the better story/moment of the night in terms of the World Title scene. You had Shawn Michaels in a fun No Holds Barred against Vince and getting fans to go wild when he did the DX sign. Then of course, Edge/Foley. I just thinks fans were burned out by the time the main event happened.

The main thing I remember about that match was how it was the audience truly hating cena and cheering for whatever heel he was up against

You got nothing from that match that you couldn't get from those guys wresting anyone else. Their styles are too similar and not in a good way.

Edge is such a badass!! Real loveable guy. I truly appreciated his run. He carried the company in 2006, that was his fucking year & he owned it going forward.

I was always upset that Edge never had a real championship title run. He always seemed to win by cheating or taking advantage of downed opponents. Sure, he won the World Heavyweight Championship. But that was always a second rate championship compared to the actual WWE Championship.

Its weird because whichever World Title was used on Raw, they would treat it like the top tier #1 title in the company and usually yes it was the wwe title. But I remember wrestlemania 20 and 21 it seemed like the world heavyweight championship was the #1 because it was on raw and it main evented wreetlemanias. Still even at wreetlemania 34 it was treated the same.

The feud he had with foley was awsome. And then Mick siding with Egde for the One Night Stand PPV then Edge worked with RVD and Cena and Foley worked with Ric. Gave Foley a chance to play heel a first since the early days of Mankind.

These guys that went through the attitude era and are alive to tell the story are the toughest ppl in the entertainment business. Just to give the fans an awesome show they’ll never forget and boost ratings. Nothing like this PG crap they have now. They are all living breathing OG (original gangsters) of the business. Stuff no one would do and put their bodies to the test. respect to edge and mick.

That's the reason why I love wrestling way more than "real" combat sports, because its never about really hurting someone else or knocking them unconscious, it's a sport that's build so much on trust and keeping each other safe and thats, in my opinion, way more fascinating and way more entertaining to watch than to people actually trying to knock each other out for real

Edge cashing in on Cena is the first thing I seen when I came to watching wrestling. I rage quit when Orton beat Benoit and my grandma bought me smackdown vs raw 2006 for Christmas. I was instantly hooked and I got to meet edge in Florida the Friday before he lost the rated R belt to Cena in TLC.

The thing about it is that you can tell that edge really loves this shit. Every time he has spoken about wrestling outside of the WWE his face lights up. Thats why I respect people like him more than ppl like a Brock who is only in it for financial gain. Passion will always Win with the audience.
