Hunting Gear Checklist - Organising and Packing my kit for a 5 day October Sambar Deer Hunt

Nice list. Good to see more ultralight appearing in ozzie vids. You can't go wrong. Less weight, less fatigue, more hunting time. Love my ZPacks Hexamid solo plus. Got mine with the detachable bathtub floor to increase options. Tent pairs really well with a Sea to Summit nano bug net.

Thanks mate. I was very fortunate to get a lot of my UL gear when the dollar was near parity. It has served me very well if you look after it. I've had my Hexamid Solo Plus in some pretty shitty conditions too on the Kosci main range in a decent storm. Just need to pitch the back to the wind if you can.

Nice, watched loads of gear reviews and loadoutscwmect. You won't go far wrong with that. Misssed stove might of been when me missus walking in and started twittering (love her to bits bty). Lighter the better but don't get caught short. You'll be right with that. What water purifier u using. Damn i'll watch it again then post, sorry for messin' you about

Thanks mate. Yeah I actually have two stoves. Both integrate in the once system. A dual wall wood burner insert. And a inverted canister gas burner (primary as its faster). Purification tabs are all I take to this planned location. The water is fast flowing and snow melt. But I run a Sawyer Squeeze if its questionable.

Can you tell me more about your down booties and especially the over booties please? I get cold feet too. I usually carry crocs in to camp with heatholder socks (Highest TOG rating I’ve found in a sock). The booties and over booties might save me some weight. Ta

Hi Rick. These are "Goosefeet" booties. But there's a few makers now. Enlightened Equipment make a synthetic version which would be good too as moisture is an issue walking around etc.
