Edge was Peyton's favorite teammate because Edge was always 100% Edge. He may not have gone to the mini camps (optional), but when he showed up, he was always 100% prepared. Edge chose to keep the grit and grind energy he brought to football at it's roots. In Immokalee and Miami. When he was injured, he went HOME to Immokalee and trained there instead of in Indianapolis. He never went the "traditional" route. Ever. He refused to BEND who he was. I remember when it was announced that Edge would not be going back to Indianapolis, that Peyton went down to Miami and they both just went out on Edge's boat and talked. Edge was very clear about his and Peyton's relationship in this game. They couldn't be MORE different, but on that field, they were brothers. They respected one another and their mutual respect for the game. Congrats to Edge!

This guy was my favorite Colt ever. When he came into the league, all people saw was the dreds and gold grills. But he was so talented and his football IQ was OFF THE CHARTS! He was the perfect backfield mate for Peyton. When it was clear that the Colts were letting Edge walk, I remember Peyton gave an interview on Edge and called him..."the best teammate I ever had." Considering some of the guys Peyton has played with over the years, that's huge praise.

I’ve worked in Everglades my whole life. I know how hard life is on the south shore of Lake Okeechobee. Where Edge grew up is one of poorest but closets communities in the nation. For him to overcome and achieve greatnesses is a tribute to his family and friends in the ‘Glades!
