@ Allen Bennett Absolutely agree. Showing your boys love, showing them you love their mother, showing emotion, empathy, compassion, man, Troy is just 👍🏻. His speech, especially that part, definitely hit me in the feels. I hope his boys keep that with them. And Troy seems like a very thoughtful, spiritual guy, like the island mentality. Actually showing true love and respect for your wife, your kids will see that, and learn from that. Props to Troy and his whole family.

"Boys, the best thing I can do for you guys is love your Mother." This should be replayed over, and over, and over. Too many players giving speeches without Fathers in their lives. The most instinctively gifted football player I have ever witnessed. Truly a phenomal talent. It could be debated that Ed Reed was better, and perhaps as a pure safety, he was. But the way Troy played, he seemed much more than simply just a safety. He was an amazing athlete, both physically and mentally. There will be many Ed Reeds coming through the league every now and then. But there will absolutely NEVER be another Troy Polamalu.

Troy Polamalu just showed up and straight up let his play do the talking and balled out every game. Great teammate, great football player and great person all rolled into one. Deserves to get in the Hall of Fame. Part of one of my favorite eras of football, guys played hard to the whistle back then and you had to know where Troy Polamalu was when you played the Steelers, and they moved Troy around so much, he could cover, he could tackle, and he just made an awesome chess piece for that defense and that made the Steelers a formidable opponent through the latter part of the 2000's.

Troy Polamalu was a great football player. He is a good man off the football field as well. As a Vikings fan, Troy’s uncle is inspiring our running backs like he did Troy. Whatever team you favor, we all wanted Troy Polamalu playing for us- but he was destined to be a Steeler. A great franchise!

When Troy Polamalu wore the Steeler black and gold he was my favorite safety in the NFL. For Troy to play the run like a linebacker while he had the ballhawking skills of an elite DB was fun to watch. Congratulations to him for making it to the NFL Hall of Fame.

I remember it was some playoff game, I wanna say it was against Indy, Troy made an interception that went up for review. The camera was on him as the ref makes his announcement that the play was overturned, incomplete pass offense’s ball. What does Troy do? Puts on his helmet and goes back onto the field, that’s IT. That will never make it into the stat book, but THAT’S what made Troy, Troy. THAT’S why he’s up there…

Being born in '85, I missed the Stillers of the 70's. But I'm so glad I got to watch my team win some championships, and Troy and that defense was a huge part of that success. I remember watching interviews from opposing QB's and they all said the first thing they looked for was Troy and where he was lining up. But it didn't matter much. Troy was all over the field. Legend.

For many years I have watched hundreds if not thousands of players in the NFL and ignored most knowing they were talented and deserved to play the game. However, every so often one would come along that you knew was so special and you MUST NEVER take your eye off of them... Why? Because you knew that player was singularly going to do something that day to alter the course of that game you were watching and you didn't want to miss it. Troy Palomalu is, and was ONE of those very players... Congratulations Troy

I remember I represented Troy Polamalu in a Madden NFL 11 tournament and finished in 3rd place. Felt great like I was on Madden Nation representing a great player and a great man. I remember the debates between him and Ed Reed. I’m glad I went with Polamalu congratulations to him on being a Hall of Famer!

Congratulations Troy I played in the shrine game against him when he was at Douglas high school in southern Oregon a lot of us had no clue who he was. I grew up in Portland about 3 hours away and when we saw him we were amazed at how good he was and he wasn’t very big at all but he was a maniac!!! Congratulations Troy! Good job fellow Oregonian!

So glad that my family was there in Canton, Ohio to witness this event. They were invited guests. We met the Polamalu family years ago as Troy grew up right up the street from my uncle. To see his talent and the athletic talent of his family members is priceless. This is one beautiful family. Thank you Pittsburgh Steelers for gearing Troy up for this well deserved moment. Congratulations again, Troy. God bless you and this beautiful family. Love you all.. 🏈
