Great video John! There is also a fifth reason why touch won't work - when the backlight is at the "off" brightness and you have the backlight mode set to "controls". This is because the touch panel is considered to be the same as the buttons for the purpose of the backlight. So when the backlight times out, touch is disabled, and since only the control sticks are allowed to wake the backlight up again, touch doesn't work. btw, my first TX16S (not the SE, it has the fully 4in1 MPM) also didn't have a touch panel with the early ones it was an option, but it also had the plastic roller. It was cheaper to buy it without, and add the touch panel and metal roller afterwards. But thankfully it then became touch screen as standard.

I have mine setup for when I inable throttle on ,the touchscreen locks and when I have throttle cut on it unlocks touchscreen. So I cant touch it by mistake when Im flying

Thanks for all your informative videos. I've got another question for you. I am building a glider with two separate servos to operate spoilers. I have successfully programed the servos to be on two separate channels, using the left slider, as they need to be going opposite directions. Is there a way to select a switch and have only one spoiler open mixed with the rudder? i.e. if right rudder is given, left spoiler remains closed, and only the right spoiler is opened and vise versa. If all else fails I can program to partially open and mix the rudder with the spoilers via a switch.

You should be able to do it with a mix. Look at the curve option "func" and see if any of those functions can get your spoiler moving correctly. When it comes to mixes you mix the thing that needs to be corrected (spoiler) with the thing that does the correcting (rudder). So in this case, you'd add a rudder mix line to your respective spoiler lines and a function of f>0 or f

Can’t get my touch working, radio does have touch (it did work). Correct firmware flashed, no switch configured to turn off touch, what’s more, when checking analogues for the touch I see the numbers appear when I touch the screen. Any ideas or should I order a replacement screen?

funny enough my tx16s when the screen backlight is turned down also stops the display from working by touch, you need to select menues by buttons or jog wheel.

Restore your prior version and see if it does the same thing. Doubtful this is firmware related. Sounds like a lose ribbon cable to me.

What about touch latency? My radio regardless of the openTx or edgetx firmware has a latency when selecting a model. Any fix?

"Selecting" a model, or loading the "model select" screen? There's a big difference between the two ;) There is always going to be some delay when switching to a different model, since there are checks that need to be completed before allowing the current model to be switched from, then the new model needs to be read in, RF modules need to be reconfigured, widgets and model images loaded, etc. To see if there is any "touch latency", see if there any difference between using touch and using the ENTER key on the rotary encoder? There shouldn't be.

Im finding EdgeTX increasingly buggy and I'm tempted to abandon it altogether and go back to OpenTX. Things like the select model feature not showing the pictures, and taking forever to load a handful of models if at all. A bigger problem is getting the on the fly adjustable control weights and expo using global variables, custom curves and trim switches. It simply refuses to work at times, even while following your videos to the letter (which I know works) and copying a previously known to work setup.I hope the bugs get fixed before more features are added. Great videos by the way, im just ranting about EdgeTX !

Hmmm...I've been using Edge pretty religiously. I just switched to 2.8 and have been flying with it for a couple of weeks now. My suggestion if you are of a mind to help: If you can repeat these issues, document them on the EdgeTX Github so they can be investigated and sorted out. Issues around pictures not being shown, taking long times to load models, and intermittent behaviour sound more like failing/faulty SD card. However, as John said, if you find bugs, we need those reports, as well as detailed instructions on how to reproduce those bugs. 😉 Otherwise, as far as we know, they don't exist 😇
