How about snowcovered island? You can discard it to your commander to draw a card (one of the most powerful things you can do in magic) while also making a treasure token (also one of the most powerful things you can do in magic).

I like this idea a lot, that’s really cool. I want to build this now.

Thank you so much for the deck review, I always appreciate the feedback I am first going to talk about some EDH deck building philosophy stuff, as I've started listening to a couple other content creators talk about edh deck building, and Salubrious Snail recently had a video on how playing removal options that are more in line with what your deck is trying to do, even if they are slightly less efficient makes them feel much less like veggies while also allowing you to play different and interesting cards, all of which appeals to me. One of the things that always frustrates me is that interaction is that it's always the same 5 cards from each color, which as an experimenter, doesn't really appeal to me. So you'll probably see more of that approach to interaction in the coming future with decks I create. In this case, I also just like madness as a mechanic. I also have a lot of interaction that is attached to other effects, weather that is creatures like the mentioned Irencrag pyromancer or on an effect type that there is a lot of in this deck, but I don't think you touched on , the Wheels, with something like fateful showdown. The number of cards that are pure interaction is low, but I think there is chunk of interaction as is. It may be 1 or 2 cards low at this point, but by the way I am counting, I have 9 pieces of interaction (I count bounce spells as 1/2 an interaction and Surly Badgersuars's fight mode also feels like 1/2 a piece of interaction). We can talk philosophy of those numbers at some point, but that's where I was coming from. I didn't forget it, I am just starting to come at it at a different angle. Now, onto the cards I want to talk power level wise. Idol of Oblivion is just a card I constantly forget exists, and I don't know why. It's a card I own, but somehow it always slips my mind. That Koi is great, completely forgot it existed, even though that card was solid in it's draft environment. I also like the equipment package you have laid out also seems solid, especially tarrian's and Dire Flail. I am less enamored with Nettlecest because of that 3 cost and just being a ball of admittedly big stats. Again, thank you very much for all the work you do, I always appreciate it, even when my comments end up mostly end up being arguing with you. Thank you.

I enjoy the discourse everytime. I'm not inherently correct on my opinions so having back and forth allows me to rethink things and improve as well :) With that in mind I think the argument on removal is an interesting one and though I think removal feeling like veggies isn't a bad thing (eat your veggies kids), I respect the idea that they can get stale after awhile. That being said, I think removal can also be seen as an enabler, because if you've been knocked out of the game you can't really get your deck to go off, and at the moment players as a whole undervalue removal instead of overvalueing it. Should the pendulum swing back the other way, I may suggest reducing removal or trying fun options, but as it is I think it's generally better to teach players to play efficient and effective removal in their colours.

@@CursedDeckbuilder With most things, there is probably a midpoint where you want 1-3 of the staples, and then some concentration of the removal spells that synergize with your deck. I firmly believe you should have 9+ ways to interact with the opponent in a deck (unless you have something like consistent removal in the command zone), with that much of the deck space taken up by an category of cards, much like all categories of cards, I think some chunk of it should pull double duty. I am starting to get this way about lands too and looking for unique utility lands highly as well. I will also note that I say interact while you say removal. I very much view counterspells as equal to removal in the ways they keep you in the game, and as I mentioned above, I view bounce as half a piece of interaction. I do overall highly recommend the video he made, it's about 10 minutes, and I think he articulates the point well in it

The only rock you really need in every single deck is Sol Ring 😀
