At that time, the GDP of the Tang Dynasty accounted for more than half of the world. Chang'an, the capital of the Tang Dynasty, was the only international metropolis at that time. Due to the development of trade on the Silk Road, many foreigners settled and served as officials in Chang'an. Economy, trade, culture, religion, science and politics are among the best in the world. This is also the most prosperous dynasty in Chinese history.

Is there a difference and if so, any idea why or when did this description change/evolve? Is it because the first batch of Southerners who were loyal to the Tang Dynasty fled the country after the fall kept the legacy of this name and it just passed down automatically, while most Mandarin speaking Northerners remained and the language/description evolved to call themselves Hua/Han Ren?

"huoi" what that means??
@dieguito34223 жыл бұрын
Hello there! I'll try to explain, "huoi" is what was called as a royal salute towards the emperor or leader, it can change the words, like "huoi" or "huei" whichever you prefer. The salute was first introduced in the movie "The Last Emperor" by Bernardo Betolucci, I think.

Tang was officially established by Li Yuan, but his son Li Shimin encouraged him to become the founder. Li Yuan married a Turkic woman of nobility, so Li Shimin was half Turkic, but Li Yuan was ethnic Han. All emperors of Tang after the founders married Han women. if you stretch the truth, you'll end up with "Tang Dynasty ruled by Turks"

In traditional ancient sinosphere culture men never kneel even in front of their rulers, they only kneel to their parents or gods, or when they became convicts they would be forced to kneel at courts by the wardens, kneeling means submission and humiliation,to men it was equivalent to cutting of the samurai knots
