I made 12 decks this year. Previously I think I made three. Part of the reason is listening to this channel. So thanks a lot. Subscribe!!!!!!

I took apart like 50% of my decks. Just had to get real about how many decks I can actually play.

You can't have too many decks. I have hundreds and I just rotate which ones I update
@tko_53 күн бұрын
Even though I built 12 I had to take apart probably eight of them and reconstruct them into other projects. Which I'm starting to realize their miniature projects lol hahahaha

I have 12 decks and have 5 being built and I always feel like I want more. I rotate through like 5 or 6 each night we play and I always am like... man... I want more decks to play. Idk how people take theirs apart unless the deck is just bad and not winning them any games ever. (Not saying that's your case)
@mitchellhanson75333 күн бұрын
@tylerstegman6846 yeah. I maybe get to play once a month if I'm lucky, and really have only gotten 3 games in at a max in a night. Some of the decks I took apart also had similar strategies to decks I like more. So it didn't make sense for me to have two.

I was over 1 per week this year, in paper. Your build types were a huge help, most turned out method 2 and smashed

Thanks for the content this year! I think you really hit your stride, i never have to fast forward or rewind your pacing and graphics are really great. Keep it up! 👍👍

Great content, I think the most interesting part of EDH is trying to make strange or "bad" cards work. I made a deck similar to your Abuelo and when it works it can be backbreaking. Mystic reflection and Sudden substitution with a bad ETB after they destroy your Torpor effects are very strong .

I found that there were so many new cards that enabled fun ideas in commander this year too. I made an upside down deck with the addition of manifest dread and disguise with Vhal Candlekeep researcher.

I'm in the process of building a Lagomos deck built around Glorious End and Arcane Bombardment. The basic idea is that if you get Glorious End exiled with Arcane Bombardment you can cast Glorious End every single turn to effectively lock each player out of taking their turns and also keep yourself from losing the game from Glorious End's delayed triggered ability.

One of my favorite decks I made this year was a fateful hour deck with the original Lich. I also liked making an inskir iron eater deck too.

Didn't build a single deck from scratch this year, only modified the 5 I have. Even on Arena, the only new commander I built was Necrobloom.

Been wanting to make Sekki for awhile, I don’t play tons of green but I love Spirits and in particular the original Kamigawa ones. Art is what originally got me into magic and the Kamigawa spirits were always these bizarre entities that looked like a concept that was slightly mistranslated. I also love difficult decks and Lure effects so I’m making this guy for sure 😂

Just wondering if you heard of the recent combat rules changes, and if i understood them correctly. You no longer as an attacker declare the order of blocking creatures, instead you decide how much damage you assign on the blocking creatures. You dont have to assign leathal amount of damage to a creature before you damage the next one. This change makes every daethtouch creature kill as many blocking creatures as its power, basicly like before the rules change if a creature had both trample and deathtouch... Did i get that right?
@Greatestnesss3 күн бұрын
Yeah my group refuses to play like this lol
@mikaeru20793 күн бұрын
Yes, there was a rules change. But, deathtouch works just like it did always: 1 point of damage is enough to inflict lethal damage. Having trample or not doesn't change anyhting with that either. Trample only cares about having more power than is needed to deal lethal damage to each blocking creature.
@MaskOfXano3 күн бұрын
@@mikaeru2079 yeah, you misuderstood. I give you an example. I attack with a 5/5 creature that has deathtouch, and my opponent blocks with let's say five 1/3 creatures. Up until now i would order them in a row, than the first creature would be dealt 3 damage, the second would be dealt 2 damage. The first two creatures die, because of deathtouch, the rest survives. Now with the new rule however. I attack, the opponent asigns blockers (now he casts instants, no more chance after this time). Now i dont order blockers, i just throw around 5 points of damage among the blockers. This means all creatures die. There is a video on Tolarian Community Collage, where the Prof explains this in detail.
@mikaeru20793 күн бұрын
@@MaskOfXano No, deathtouch NEVER worked that way. It ALWAYS killed every creature with the first point of damage it inflicts. From the comprehensive rules (and it was exatly worded the same in earlier versions): "702.2c Any nonzero amount of combat damage assigned to a creature by a source with deathtouch is considered to be lethal damage for the purposes of determining if a proposed combat damage assignment is valid, regardless of that creature’s toughness. See rules 510.1c-d." Therefore, IF the creature has deathtouch, it ALWAYS killed with the first point of damage and didn't need to assign (as in your example) 3 and 2 damage to the first 2. THAT's the whole point, why deathtouch even exists. If it DIDN't work that way, there were no reason for it existing. Yes, the rules how combat assignment works, did change. But it has absolutely no effect on how deathtouch works. That was all I said. Edit: Despite having already watched multiple videos about the rules change (that DID cover deathtouch), I just watched Tolarian's video on the rules change and, unless you were talking about another one, there was nothing said about deathtouch and nothing he said had anything to do with deathtouch either since, as I said, deathtouch ALWAYS worked that way, that a single point of damage already counted as lethal damage and that is all that has to be reached when assigning damage with the old rules. Tldr: Old rules "Deathtouch = lethal damage is 1+; assign a lethal amount of damage in order of blocking creatures -> Every creature gets 1 damage and dies" New rules "Still deathtouch = lethal damage is 1+; assign damage however you want -> Every creature gets 1 damage and dies"
