They were horrible, but Stalin didn't build Zyklon-B showers he first had tested on people with disabilities before unleashing them on other people. Invading the USSR to free its citizens is what you call a total waste of time and resources. Napoleon figured out in one winter that trying to take Russia was a really bad idea. Hitler had "never start a land war in Asia" shoved down his throat. Finally, the biggest butcher of the 20th century wasn't even Mao Zedong, whose "Great Leap Forward" was brutal in its numbers. So stunning and so avant-garde that she got a government funded TV show overseas to echo her statements to a live audience of clapping seals. (It sure is easy being brave for progressives. It seems mostly to consist of going to venues filled with your own fanbase and talking smack about people who aren't present, then waiting for applause.)

Great letter Ms. Falco. You're a great actor too. I am a black man. I am 69 years old. I went to elementary school during the 60's. It was when schools were being integrated. I became friends with many jewish, italian, irish, polish, german, and other people from europe. We never had any race riots or racial arguments. We were just kids learning about each other. Some of us are still friends today. I believe that racism and hatred and racism are taught by parents and other family members. I guess all the aforementioned people l mentioned weren't taught to hate, they were taught to love. Because of that love, l learned about customs of many europeans and they learned about black culture. All of this occurred in the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia. We were just kids going to school, learning, playing and having fun. God bless all my elementary school friends. That type of friendship is needed more than ever today.

I agree. People that hate on the basis of ethnicity, race, gender, disability miss the eff out! My very best friend was a black lady I sang with decades ago (different decade but not the last 2 or 3) who unfortunately died too young (a type of cancer.) I do not recall her mentioning her race or me to her about my Jewish heritage. We were more concerned about hitting the right notes. I recall her squeal with joy when we got it right! We just sang and danced together. Some things need a revival.

They have a deeply seated need to blame someone for their own shortcomings. Rather than look inwards it’s much easier to find a scapegoat. Trouble is, that only works for a short while!

Frank doesn't speak for me, as a white person! In fact, just the opposite. It's us with the caucasian skin that need to fight the rabid vile white nationalists & racists everywhere we can! You don't fight back by wishing you weren't the same skin color as the lousy ones. In fact, that just marks us as cowards. We need to just stand against them. Not change anything else.

So true, hopefully, at long last, times really are a changing, don’t let casual racist or homophobic remarks be said unchallenged, I’m a 76 yr old white British woman, I’ve learnt if you don’t challenge offensive language, the racist will think you share their views. It gets easier to challenge I’ve found with age. Young people, who are hopefully better educated, for them racism isn’t an issue, homosexuality isn’t an issue. nor the transgender stuff. Thankfully they all work and socialise with each other. I’ve got real faith in the young, obviously I’m generalising, but big oaks from little acorns grow.
