I think, at that time, Al Franken needed to resign, it was inevitable THEN. However, I also think that he should run for office again, and let his constituents decide if he should be forgiven or not. He was one of the most effective Senators that I've seen. When there were hearings on important issues, he was VERY good at cutting through BS responses. (For example, questioning Jeff Sessions about Russian meddling [to the point that Sessions himself said that HE had met with Russian contacts / and soon after recused himself from handling the investigation].) Franken used just enough humor, and always had staff with very specifics documents prepared: when someone would lie / leave out details that changed the meaning, Franken & staff had charts and quotes ready to immediately dispute (prove untrue) what the person had just tried to get away with some half-true reply. And he lead the way in trying to keep the internet free and equal (not allowing big companies to slow down service to "lesser" users). He talked passionately about 'if there were some new KZbin type company trying to come out today, with the proposed legislation, they would not have a chance in competing with the already wealthy established companies. His absence from the Senate has really been a great loss (a distinct void) in important debates taking place. I don't know if he should be forgiven or not, but I think he should at least run, and let his constituents show their feelings on the matter.

I'm an 80 year old, long-term committed feminist and I feel the exact same way!! Dammmm I've never known one feminist in my life who was as simple-minded and/or phony as Gillibrand. Just shows that being smart (& good looking) isn't enough. Having some character and caring about fairness is much more important and Al had and has those qualities. His misbehavior was like a teenage boy who was being playful compared to the real predators like Trump and his pal Epstein and Harvey Weinstein and the Fox guy.
