Thank you so much for putting this Video up! I've just signed up (two days ago!) to take the CIP on crochet. I'm getting SO impatient for my email to get here! And your Video gave me a way to learn more about it while waiting! Could you give me an idea on how long it usually takes to get your welcome email? Hi, Edie. I'm interested in becoming a better teacher. I filled out the application but I have not checked out yet. Besides Michaels, do you know what other venues require this certification? Years ago I taught knitting at Jo-Ann. I was not happy with the classes designed by their corporate staff which I was required to teach. My biggest complaint was that all but one of the yarns assigned were not easy for beginners to use for learning. One was a non-stretchy 8-ply (very splitty and pilly) and another was a non-stretchy wrapped roving (pulling out hair just thinking about it). I vowed never again to teach beginners in a situation where the yarn worked against them. I would consider Michaels if they do not require beginners to use difficult yarns. However, this is Chicago, and the supply of craft store instructors exceeds the demand.

How are the classes held during this time of the pandemic? What is the cost of the course?

Don't be! We are all really nice (I think), and want you to succeed! It's no big deal if you have to re-do something. Just double-check that you've done all the assignments and included the required information.
