Just bought it in Aug 2024, compliment to my Edifier 1280DBS. Works perfectly. Sound very good.

I don’t need to but any extra cable to connect it with my r1855s right? I’ve just ordered one t5 today, so could you help me get the connections and lpf and phase setting right please? I’d appreciate that

@@deepitkujur5486 Hello, you will just need an RCA to 3.5mm cable. The R1855DB speakers have a subwoofer output, so just connect them using the cables to the back of the T5.

If you’re pairing this subwoofer up with a set of R1700BTS speakers and connecting through a subwoofer out port on the 1700s, what would you recommend the crossover is set to?

Can you connect it in this way to a Wiim AMP, or does it need to be a receiver like a Wiim pro plus with active speakers?

Since the WiiM AMP has a subwoofer output, you can connect it the same way you would connect the speakers.

The audio input can simply come from the computer's headphone/audio output to the T5 subwoofer. Why does it have to be a separate music streamer/amplifier? For example, with Edifier S1000MK2 speakers?

Hi, You can use the S1000 + T5 but as the S1000 doesn't have a subwoofer output so you'd need to feed your PC's audio output into the T5 and then the T5 into the S1000. This will work fine, the audio source doesn't need to be a Wi-Fi streamer but it does need to be able to control volume which your PC can. If you then stream to the speakers via Bluetooth directly the subwoofer won't work, but content played through the subwoofer will play through speakers + subwoofer together.

Does it have crossover features? I mean does it send the speakers full range sound? Or only hid to high's?

Hi, it does have a low pass filter for use when connected via a sub output. But if you're looking to send sound via the T5 to speakers then its an RCA pass through at full range. You basically set the speaker volume, (quite high) set the sub volume then once tuned and sounding good you leave the speaker and subwoofer volumes alone and control the volume from the source device (i.e WiFi streamer or PC)

I wanted to figure out if it will work like you described with Edifier 2.0 S880DB speakers, I wanted to upgrade to those.

Hi, you can use the S880DB with a T5 only by using the audio pass through method shown in the video with an external source such as WiFi streamer or PC. The source must be able to control the volume and the subwoofer will only work with this source, not from any of the other inputs or directly via Bluetooth.

It would work with the R1850db? I am thinking about getting those speakers then eventually this.

Hi, it does work with the R1850DB but they are discontinued (in the UK at least!) the replacement is the R1855DB which has better Bluetooth version and a better remote control. It also has a subwoofer output to connect to the T5.

Hope you can help me with my dilemma. You seem to have a large knowledge with speakers and I wanted to ask you about my plan. I wanted to connect Edifier R1855DB + Edifier T5 and the Edifier D12 will that be possible or will that bust the speakers? hoping for your opinion.

Hi, the R1855DB has a subwoofer/line output so can feed the T5 fine, or the D12 but not both together. Your best bet would be to get two WiiM Mini Wi-Fi streamers and use them as sources on the R1855DB and the D12. Then you can stream and group the two together in sync with no issues.

@@kbaudiouk will it work with smart tv? Not pc. Also connecting 4 edifier 2000 plus t5 or other sub to a tv? Can they work,,? Even with cables? Will they create home cinema? Surround for movies? With great sound.? It would be a custom made 4.1 , no amp

many people say that the t5 have cone rattling at high volume, is this true and if its true is it annoying

It's actually not cone rattling..it is port chuffing. It will not be annoying if you are not cranking the volume dial too high. My living room is 350+ sqft and I get deep and punchy bass. If you want I can give my exact dial settings.

I bought this set of speakers to with my audio-technica vinyl player. I plug the subwoofer into my speakers using the RCA cables and the subwoofer doesn’t produce any sound. I tried a headphone splitter using an 3.5mm audio cable but this didn’t work either. Please help? I’m a noobie

@@zachthornton8337 hi, the T5 subwoofer needs to connect to a pair of speakers / amplifier. The turntable then connects into the speakers / amplifier. What speakers do you have? Or have you plugged your turntable directly into the subwoofer?
