I think that goes for most cities! When you visit for a weekend or a week you only really scratch the surface.. even people who live and work there still discover new places all the time. We’ve found that over the past year in Cornwall for sure!!

We’re flying over in a few days and will have 2 full days in Edinburgh and then 2 full days in London. Then onto Italy for 4 days. Excited but wish we were staying in the UK longer. But that only means I will come back and tour Scotland and the UK longer. Thank you for such a great video. Great video My wife and I are planning a mini break for March 2023 and can't decide whether to visit Edinburgh or York We live in Whitley Bay, near Newcastle which is pretty much halfway between the two cities.

The cathedral is free to enter, give a donation if you want, you should have gone in. They have a box to drop money into, but it isn't manned and they don't ask for a donation when you walk in. You should have walked in!!!

The lintels on the National Monument aren't the largest pieces of stone ever quarried in Scotland, that honour probably goes to the pillars at the entrance to Edinburgh University which are monoliths quarried at Craigleith in west Edinburgh.

Dumbledore is an old English word for bumblebee. And JKR said as D liked music she could imagine him moving around to it like a bee. (Saw that is an interview directly with her). Potter was also the surname of someone she knew not off a headstone. Again, that was direct from her in an interview. I think sadly a lot of Harry Potter story info linking it to Edinburgh has been distorted

There is one in particular that we were told of by a very trustworthy tour guide, it’s called the Bow Bar on Victoria Street. Apparently, their knowledge on whiskies is impeccable and you can simply tell them what food you like to eat and they will pair your with a whisky you’re sure to like!

Great video.. I do think the food and drink consumed was overpriced a lot but if you live in London you'll be used to overpriced consumption... Vegan stuff might be your thing but most people will be carnivores and eat Scottish meat and of haggis... Might be against your principles but maybe cover some options for the 99% of the population... In general very good video, well filmed...

Please stop touching the statue of Greyfriars Bobby, the acid on your hands wears away the patina that took over 100 years to build up. The wee statue had a black nose until tourists started touching it's nose about 20 years ago and the bloody thing is ruined now, it will take another 100 years to build that back to how it was. What makes people come to visit a place and damage what they are coming to see? Look don't touch!!!! By the way, if you're a tourist guide in Edinburgh and encourage people to do this you need a lifetime ban from the city.

You should make some signs up and stick them all around the statue itself. People don't realise this when they are there, nor did we! Maybe instead of making a cute statue of a dog with an adorable story out of a material that erodes away with contact from people's hands was not such a good idea either... 🤷🏼‍♂️

How about when you visit a city you try your best NOT TO EFFING DAMAGE THE STATUES when you're there? I have managed to travel around the world without wanting to put my hands on things that are meant to be looked at and not touched, the wee dug managed to be there for 127 years with no damage to it at all. SMFH, come back from holiday to a stupid response like this!
