I walked with my family for the whole day to see the major landmarks of Edinburgh. Most memorable one was going up Calton Hill. Truly beautiful place. Surprise awaited me when we were resting at a corner, going down the Rembrandt building. I seem to have seen part of that place decades ago in one of my dreams. So vivid, t’was like a “deja vu” in a flash!

Edinburgh's New Town, under construction from 1767 to the 1850's is indeed very Hanoverian in style given that the modern British Monarchy itself was Hanoverian from the time of King George 1 in 1714. Several streets in the New Town have German names or connections ( eg Hanover St, Saxe-Coburg St ).
