Returning to Scotland in 1988 as can be seen here, the capital was buzzing with activity featuring a host of passenger services working to and from towns and cities both north and south of the border. This short video is produced using extracts from the excellent Roy Bowden collection.

I was stationed 30 miles north of Aberdeen in the 1980s, so coming home on leave saw me come through Waverley a LOT. Long old hike back to Cov.

Push me pull you train used between Glasgow Queen St and Edinburgh. Class 47 on the front and a DBSO at the other end.

I'm not sure which type of camera it was but as you say, very good quality for its time
